I am a big fan of movie and tv soundtracks, including movie scores. I have been feeling a need to freshen up my work playlists, so last week I downloaded a few albums: Victoria The Crown Game of Thrones (season 8) Bridgerton The Last Kingdom Goodfellas
I am really loving the Victoria soundtrack. It makes me want to watch the show again.
I think my all-time favorites are Pretty In Pink, Vision Quest, Stand By Me, Dirty Dancing, Sleepless in Seattle, and Guardians of the Galaxy. I could go on and on though… I have so many I love!

Local Hero. It was written by Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits, and is quite magical and highly evocative. 😊

I love good music (ie. Music I like😉😄) in movies. One my favorite soundtracks is from the The Big Chill. There are tons of others but this one comes to mind immediately.

Dirty Dancing. For about a year, it was the only cassette tape that we owned. We drove all over the country with that playing!
Forrest Gump is a good one. A good mix of songs and lots of greats.
And don’t forget about Hamilton! I know it’s not technically a soundtrack, but it’s a compilation of great.

Agree, The Big Chill has so many GREAT songs! And I can’t help but play the movie in my mind while I’m listening, because that cast was amazing…so many great actors.

I had never known anything about the Phantom of the Opera until the movie came out, and once I saw it, I listened to the soundtrack over and over again. So good! I heard the Phantom soundtrack just before it came out and fell in love with it. That and Somewhere in Time are two all time favorites with many others.

Pretty in Pink is my very favorite non musical movie soundtrack. Some Kind of Wonderful is great too (except for the horrid version of Can’t Help Falling In Love).
My favorite musical movie soundtracks are Grease and Xanadu.

Forrest Gump Dirty Dancing Hamilton Grease Pulp Fiction Romeo + Juliet The Piano ♡
And last night me and DD16 were watching the new Netflix movie 'Fear Street:1994'. It's the first of three horrormovies in a series, set in different years; 1994, 1978 and 1666. The first movie was released this weekend, and the next two will be released over the next two weekends, and I highly recommend it if you're a horrorfan. But anyway, the soundtrack for 1994 was amazing! For me who was 15 years old and working at a local radiostation in 1994. So many of my favorite songs came up, and my DD was just rolling her eyes at me the entire movie for singing along 😄 Can't wait to hear the soundtrack for 1978 this weekend, it's set at a summercamp.

The Martian has an awesome soundtrack. Is it all disco? Pretty in Pink is my very favorite non musical movie soundtrack. Some Kind of Wonderful is great too (except for the horrid version of Can’t Help Falling In Love). My favorite musical movie soundtracks are Grease and Xanadu. I'm the opposite - I loved that version of Can't Help Falling in Love so much that I used the instrumental as the opening credit score for a Celtic music radio show I used to host! I have to agree though, these are probably some of my favourite soundtracks of all time, along with Empire Records and Singles.

Definitely LaLa Land. I think it’s the best movie soundtrack of all time.
Other favorites: Dirty Dancing Sleepless in Seattle Guardians of the Galaxy American Idiot Broadway soundtrack—I like some of the tracks better than the Green Day originals.
We watched Cruella the other night and it had a great soundtrack, but I haven’t listed to it outside of the movie.

Now I want to watch that movie again. It's my favorite movie. I've watched it more than any other movie hands down. Oh, and I should add, A Knights Tale A Life Aquatic with Steve Zizzou - Seu Jorge doing Bowie songs makes my heart sing.

There are too many good ones to remember them all (and I'm excluding all Disney and musical cast recordings), but a few of my faves are: Purple Rain Singles Almost FamousO Brother Where Art Thou Almost Famous is in development for Broadway. I cannot wait! One of my son's friends played Penny in the out of town tryout and apparently was a-mazing in the role. I hope she's available to play her when it does open on B'way.

Some sound tracks instantly take me to a different place, and are not necessarily about the movie, which I suspect is the same for many of us. Some of those are: Saturday Night Fever Big Chill O Brother Where Art Thou Guardians of the Galaxy Yesterday
edited to add Mamma Mia - Zee reminded me of that one, not sure how I could have left it off the list since everyone knows ABBA! A couple of oldies that remind me of fun times with my parents and trips to the drive-in are American Graffiti and The Graduate.
