Oh , the wall is causing problems all around... Iraq War veteran who set up a fundraiser to build former president Donald Trump's border wall has been indicted on tax fraud charges. Brian Kolfage, of Miramar Beach, Florida, faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted on two counts of filing a false tax return and one count of wire fraud related to the electronic filing of his 2019 state tax return, reported the Orlando Sentinel. He's also facing federal indictment in New York for fraud and money laundering-related offenses. Prosecutors say Kolfage raised hundreds of thousands of dollars from multiple organizations, including We Build the Wall, Inc., that he deposited into his own bank account and did not report the funds to the Internal Revenue Service. The We Build the Wall nonprofit organization, which raised more than $25 million, is facing a criminal investigation of its own by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Services. Kolfage, a triple amputee wounded in 2004 while serving in Iraq, launched a GoFundMe page in 2018 with a goal of raising $5 billion, and authorities say he used fake news websites to solicit crowdsourced donations. www.rawstory.com/brian-kolfage/

It is unfortunate that he is a triple amputee. I would think he would be under the VA..Pension and benefits .
Wonder, does he keep them?

It is unfortunate that he is a triple amputee. I would think he would be under the VA..Pension and benefits . Wonder, does he keep them? My cousin was a double amputee from when he was active duty in the navy. *We,* as a nation, take horrible care of our disabled veterans. The money is peanuts certainly barely enough to live on. At least in California, where my cousin lived, you can’t survive on that money. There certainly is NOT enough for housing. Medical services from the VA vary greatly depending on where you live, some places access is next to non existent. You have to travel for a long time in some areas to get treatment ( not easy for an amputee ) But hey, at least when he died they buried him, so there’s that. I’m not sure where I stand on wounded disabled veteran, a triple amputee, wounded in service to the country, cheating a little bit on taxes. I mean, I know it’s wrong, I get that, but why is it the little guys who get caught for tax fraud and the billionaires walk free, some bragging about it. If I were a juror the prosecution would have an uphill battle proving their case. I’d definitely start on the side of reasonable doubt until every i was dotted & every t was crossed. Especially when former a supposed billionaire isn’t getting charged with his years and years of tax fraud, not to mention money laundering. Glad this isn’t my responsibility to deal with.

He wasn't just cheating on his taxes, he was raising money to build the wall, and instead stole all the money he raised for himself. I have no problem with his prosecution.

hop2 I agree about the lack of care and horrid treatment of our veterans, particularly those who are disabled. Theft is not the answer. And it was millions
