I’m growing out my color and have about 4” of gray coming in. It’s really soft and shiny. The ends, not so much. I’m looking for a good shampoo and conditioner that I can get from Target/Amazon. . I moved to a new area awhile back, and don’t have a salon/stylist yet.

A couple of years ago my hair was feeling super dry. My husband's barber recommended Rusk Puremix Fig Replenishing and the conditioner.
Link I tried didn't work.
It's about $18.00 on Amazon

This summer I’ve been using Verb from Ulta and really like it. The hydrating shampoo and conditioner are very nice for my everyday needs - makes my hair softer (it’s a little dry this year).
I bought my teen a coloring conditioner from Overtone and got myself the colorless mask. BY FAR my favorite hair mask at this moment in time. It makes my hair so so so soft and healthy looking. I recently repurchased the colorless for myself and think I have a new current favorite.

I love L'Oreal Elvive Smooth Intense, smoothing shampoo. When my hair is especially dry I like to use Pantene rescue shots.
I am a try it all type of person and I keep going back to the L'Oreal.

I’m not a fan of Ulta. It’s mostly their customer service. However, I see this product on Amazon. I see a couple different options. Do you use the one called “ghost”? I think the shampoo and conditioners are in black and white bottles? Thanks

I use Wella - kinda of expensive and I alternate and not use it every time. OH, and I don't wash my hair but once a week if that much as I have long hair. I think that helps as well. I'm 71 and we did not grow up washing our hair every day like some do now days. So my scalp and hair just does great with once a week or every ten days.

I’ve never thought of it that way, but I grew up pretty much the same way, same era. 6 of us with one bathroom ! It was what it was. Never questioned it. I too have shoulder length hair and don’t need to wash it very often. Plus, I color it myself so it gets a little dry. Oh my shampoo rec - I use suave. But, the fancier ones. 😊

I’m not sure if they sell it at Target or Amazon, but I’m in love with the Briogeo Superfoods line, I get mine online at Sephora but I know it’s available other places. Maybe Nordstrom? I use the green shampoo and conditioner as well as the kiwi & avocado deep conditioner. I have a large percentage of course grey hair and this line has made it much softer and more manageable and even helps with the frizz. It’s not cheap, but I like the more natural ingredients. Well, I like the ingredients that aren’t included, none of it is really natural. I have used samples of a lot of their other lines and liked all of them, this just seems to work best for my color-treated-monthly-but-growing-out-since-COVID-started hair.

When I was researching it I think I saw that the Ghost line is more for fine hair and meant to be “weightless” so to speak. I haven’t tried that line. The Ghost oil is really good though.

Having tried shampoos/conditioners at all price points (up to $65/bottle), I surprisingly prefer & use inexpensive Suave (specifically, Keratin Infusion Color Care). They offer several moisturizing formulas. At an astonishing $2.99/bottle, it’s worth a try! Hope you find one that works for you. www.suave.com/us/en/hair/professionals-shampoo-conditioner.html

aving tried shampoos/conditioners at all price points (up to $65/bottle), I surprisingly prefer & use inexpensive Suave Same. My sister was a hair dresser and I have used all brands under the sun. I find Suave almond and shea butter works as well as anything. I still buy Biolage Exquisite Oil when it's on sale, because I love the scent and I've used it since I was a kid. For what it's worth, I grew my gray out about 3 years ago now, and I find my hair to be super soft now. The growing out period was the worst-the dyed hair was so dry. Once that's over, I think you'll be happy!

By the way, I just checked and the Biolage oil has been discontinued.

How close are the ingredients to the new one they recommend? I have some samples of that to test out, so I’ll try them next, thanks!

How close are the ingredients to the new one they recommend? I don't know what Biolage is recommending, so I can't answer that. I know that Moroccan Oil brand is super duper moisturizing and my hair loves it as well as the Suave almond and shea.

I looked into the Suave, love almond oil and shea butter, but unfortunately it has some ingredients I’m avoiding.

The recommendation is on the right side of the page I linked above. I meant that I used Biolage exquisite oil shampoo and conditioner. Hair oils don't usually do much for me. I hope that helps. I think Biolage hydrasource shampoo/conditioner would be a good dupe.
