I've been following, well as much as we can see. The Cuban government has shut off internet access to it's people with the government controlling the information. Amazing Cubans are shouting liberty and freedom, with many flying the American flag.

We have a Cuban restaurant in our town. The owner is someone I worked with at a previous job. She’s been posting lots of good information and even staged a small ‘protest’ downtown to call attention to what’s happening. It’s a sad and scary situation in Cuba right now.

I'm reading President Biden is about to announce sanctions against. That's good news, if true.
I've been following friends on FB who are Cuban American and what's happening over there is horrible. Those poor people, I pray things change for the good, that poor country.

I have distant family from Cuba (ex uncle and his family side) so I have been following this closely.

I started a thread about this a few months ago but it didn’t get much traction,, I think because Cuba wasn’t in the news as much then. My Cuban American friends have been saying for months that their relatives are near starvation. They are not allowed to keep a chicken for food, for example. All must be contributed to the govt. and if you are connected, your fate in Cuba is much better than those who are not. So much for communism.
It’s a lose/lose proposition from what I can see. Trump shut off what little access Americans had to visit Cuba. They were already blaming the U.S.prior to that for their plight. There were billboards up when I was there in 2014 blaming the Embargo for Cuba’s problems. If Biden aids Cuba, this is what conservatives see as aiding Communism. If he doesn’t, the people are starving. And no country wants to lend them money because historically they don’t pay it back. I keep asking my friends what their conservative Florida relatives who are demonstrating in support of Cuba would actually like to see the U.S. do. One person said they want the U.S. to invade Cuba. Imagine if we did that.
I’d love to hear a workable solution.
I’d love to see a scenario that would work, but right now it seems like the Cuban government has screwed their people at every turn.
