www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHTi7PBJLnkI love this new commercial for a Chevy truck that features a very unusual cat! And yes, some people still watch broadcast tv with commercials.

I love that commercial! ❤️ I love any positive tv or movie depiction of a cat. They’re too often presented as mean and untrustworthy, or just plain disposable.

Walter, go get me some firewood. I've been calling all the cats here Walter for the past few days. So far, no firewood has been fetched.

I love it, and I know I am biased because I had a Walter but Walter cats are simply the best, the sweetest and handsomest of all cats! Even though my Walter never fetched wood, he was really great!

"What's so great about him? He doesn't have a workspace!" 🤣
I have a friend who frequently fosters kittens. She always teaches them to swim in her pool before they go. They always love it! It is very odd to see a cat swim much less like it. I'll tell her she needs to up her game!

That was so cute. And now I think my next cat's name will be Walter. Okay, but don't put too much pressure on him to bring you firewood and round up the cattle!

Theodore, should we adopt a Walter to be your cat roommate? Theo? {Theo the orangey cat leaves the room}
Absurdly ridiculously cute. Thank you.

Okay, but don't put too much pressure on him to bring you firewood and round up the cattle! Just the firewood. We don't have cattle. Lol! (Maybe Walter could scare the geese off our dock though?)

The Canada geese on our dock scoff at all the Walters. Yeah I think they knocked over our fake owl (it actually moves and makes noise, but I think the geese point a wing and laugh at us). Our cabin neighbors spray grape kool-aid (mixed with just water) and it helps keep the geese away! We just bought some kool-aid. I'm willing to try anything at this point.

Our cabin neighbors spray grape kool-aid (mixed with just water) and it helps keep the geese away! We just bought some kool-aid. I'm willing to try anything at this point. We don’t use our little dock almost ever, so my DH just hoses it off once in a while, as well as the turtle platform some Eagle Scouts built next to the dock since ducks/geese/great blue herons also hang out on it. I admit to loving how loyal Canada geese are to their mates, mating for life and mourning terribly if one passes away. An injured female was once in our yard by the tiny lake. We brought her water with bread and she ate a little. Her mate allowed us to! We called an animal control officer we knew was great with wildlife, and she was able to get the goose in a dog carrier and take her to a local vet who treated wildlife. She had to be euthanized. Her mate watched the officer carry her up the path, and for months “Mr. Goose” waited at the bottom of the path, looking up for her. He’d eat and go in the water for a bit but always came back to wait, and ignored all other geese. Months later he spent more time away from his watch spot but stayed in the yard most of the time. It went on for a couple years. I’d go out and talk to him sometimes. I don’t know if he re-mated or passed away. A neighbor who jogged a certain path every day watched a goose do the same from the side of a road where her mate had been run over. When they have goslings, one goose will eat with the babies, and the other stands guard, looking around. Then they switch. Our community lake manager and staff go around the lakes to addle eggs to keep them from hatching, and it’s helped keep the population down. Well, somewhat.
