Anyone watched this series on Peacock? I thought it was really good and that Joshua Jackson did a great job playing Christopher Duntsch. Awful that it took so long to get him out of the operating room and into prison though.

YES!!!!! It was so good! But Christian Slater stole every scene he was in. Great cast all around.

I did! I listened to the podcast earlier this year and binged the TV series as soon as I saw it advertised. I agree about Christian Slater. All of that banging on the spine just made me cringe. I can't imagine having been in the room with him and witnessing that as another doctor, nurse, etc. Scary!

YES!!!!! It was so good! But Christian Slater stole every scene he was in. Great cast all around. He so did! It's really hard to believe that Dr Dunsch's friend stayed loyal to him even after becoming quadriplegic. That doctor was a menace! I'm still having trouble understanding his motives. Like Alec Baldwin's character said - he's either the most incompetent surgeon or he's a sociopath. I'm still not sure which but the cocaine use definitely didn't help.

The series was great, really did the podcast justice. If you haven't listened to the podcast, DO IT NOW! There is a season 2 of the podcast and I find it an even harder listen than Dr. Duntsch. If they make a series, it's gonna be something.

Are you able to watch it with the free version of Peacock? I’d love to watch it as I really enjoyed the podcast but I cannot justify the cost of yet another streaming service.

I listened to the podcast in horror. I wish it wasn't on another streaming option because my DH has had it UP TO HERE with being nickeled and dimed with various subscriptions when cutting the cord was supposed to help us save money. LOL
Starting to listen to season 2.
But seriously, didn't it make you question the management of care or at least more staunchly advocate for your own care for whatever you go into the doctor for? Much less your spine or brain. It really unnerved me.

To me, it seemed as if he didn't know what he was doing at times and then at others it was like he was intentionally doing the wrong thing. Did he have any successful cases?

I am on episode 6 on the Podcast! I just heard about it 2 days ago. I didn’t realize it was available as a show! Thanks for this post! Don’t know if we have Peacock, but I’ll check!

I think he had a few successful cases before operating on his friend. I think I heard there were no successful ones after him(I may be wrong and it was after one of those 2 women early on).

Ah, this makes everything make sense. There were a bunch of recent stories about his brief time at CSU and I kept think, we knew this already.
I refuse to pay for more service, but I love Christian Slater. Maybe if they have a free trial after the olympics

I’m watching it and want to like it, but there so many things they are getting wrong about surgery and working in an OR. That stuff makes me crazy when I watch medical shows. I scrubbed as a surgical tech for several years and assisted in many spinal surgeries over that time. I should probably just listen to the podcast 😬.
In all my time in surgery, especially spinal surgery, I’ve never seen anything near the level of incompetence and/or psychotic behavior Duntsch wrought against his patients. It’s absolutely tragic the lives he destroyed over a relatively short period of time, and insane how long he was able to practice before being shut down and incarcerated.

Someone asked on the FB page snd they said no just the first episode. I would have tried it if it was available but I just can’t justify another streaming service.
