I prefer my weekly spread to start on Monday to keep the weekend together.
ETA: I like the monthly spreads to be the traditional calendar Sunday start tho. It’s my one beef with my Commit30 planner…..if you choose Monday start both the month & weekly spreads are Monday start.

Always always Monday start, with calendars and PL (and planners if I used them). That way I can keep the weekEND together at the END.
The designer who I buy my Project Life templates from has always started the week on a Sunday, so I would have to amend every single spread. Then this year she started out doing the templates Monday- Sunday, I was so happy, and that was the main reason I decided to stick with her products this year. Unfortunately sometime around March she went back to Sunday - Saturday. So now I have to amend every week again. I had wondered whether too many people complained about her changing to Mon-Sun?

Calendars confuse me if they have the Monday start, I have to highlight the weekends if I use a Monday start calendar. But I need my weeklies to start on Monday and give equal space to Saturday/Sunday as they do to weekdays, which very few do (which is why I now draw up my own weeklies in a bujo)

My month spread is a regular calendar where the week runs Sunday thru Saturday.
My weeks however I like Monday start, I like the ‘extra’ 8th space to be on the weekend in case I have extra stuff to put in. Weekdays are full of work and there’s not a whole lot I can post from work due to privacy concerns.

I hate Monday start. In my head the week starts on Sunday, so a Monday start completely confuses me when I see it on paper.

In my part of the world, there is only the Monday start to the week. I'm always confused when I buy US or Japanese planner products with Sunday starts. Anyone interested, here's the world map of on which day the week starts (orange = Monday | green = Saturday | blue = Sunday):

When I was working I matched my calendar to the shift schedule. Now it is Monday start for weekly planning and Sunday for Calendars.

Anyone interested, here's the world map of on which day the week starts That's so interesting!! I love that NZ and Aus are not the same, and the patchwork of differences in Africa and South America. I'm not sure if the map is totally accurate though/if some places may have shifted though - my hobonichi journals are all Monday start on monthlies/calendars and weeklies. And I think growing up NZ was split the same way I am - weekly things started on Monday but monthly calendars always had the Sunday start.

I'm not sure if the map is totally accurate though/if some places may have shifted though I've found slightly differing maps with some possible conflicts like for NZ and Argentina. But overall, those are the big divides around the world where part of Asia and most of the Americas are bulked together, Europe, part of of Asia and Africa form the other main group and, finally, some Muslim countries in North-Africa and the Middle-East. The global tendency is a slip towards a Monday start to the week as it makes sense per the international standard ( ISO 8601) with the exception of countries where theocracy is on the rise. Saturday start would be so weird. I didn't know that was a thing. The birth and rise of the weekend was to accomodate Judaism and Christianism within a same week. Saturday is linked to the Muslim week tradition where the weekly rest takes place on Friday (day of worship) and Saturday.

In my part of the world, there is only the Monday start to the week. I literally cannot fathom the idea of Sunday being the start of the week when it's called the weekend.

Anyone interested, here's the world map of on which day the week starts (orange = Monday | green = Saturday | blue = Sunday): Ugh, I am irrationally pissed off by that map! Australia should be ORANGE goddammit. I think I'll move to New Zealand! I literally cannot fathom the idea of Sunday being the start of the week when it's called the weekend. Same! Ugh! Like I said, irrationally angry. The social club at my work owns two holiday houses. I manage the bookings for one of the houses, and I always download a calendar that I can choose Monday as the start of the week. The other girl used a calendar that started with a Sunday. It was ridiculous, because the weekend bookings had one box at on the left filled out, and the other box on the right filled out. NO! I want to see my bookings right next to each other. The following year I got in early and set up both calendars, so the weekends were together on both of them. (She also uses Comic Sans on her brochure, and puts all the photos on weird angles, but that's a whole 'nother story!)

Anyone interested, here's the world map of on which day the week starts (orange = Monday | green = Saturday | blue = Sunday): While the calendar week may start officially on Sunday in South Africa, most people think of Monday as the first day of the week. For example, in isiXhosa (Mandela's mother tongue) the word for Monday is uMvulo, which means "the one which opens (the week)". The word for Tuesday is uLwesibini, which means "the second day". The official calendar is probably a holdover from Apartheid and its heavily Christian focus. I prefer Monday starts for everything.
