My young adult son had an echo and has an MRI coming up. His echo had two new terms/findings that I am not familiar with. One is TAPESIS(?) has has to do with tricuspid valve, and the other is listed as right ventricular strain rate which measures right ventricular dysfunction.
Basically sounds like he's developed mild pulmonary hypertension as a result of the repair he had at birth.
Just curious if anyone knows anything about narrowed pulmonary branches.

I don't have any knowledge, but I do have good thoughts for him as he gets this figured out.

Im shocked that the tech doing the echo gave you results. Typically they are not allowed to do so, only the doctor.

A lot of the time I can see test results in my online portal before I even get a call from the doctor. That happened over the weekend, and I got a doc call this morning. It’s hard to say unless the OP clarifies.

My ds' cardiologist doesnt use an online portal and the results are given at the same appointment where the echo is done so our experience is a bit different.

I don't know about those issues specifically but my daughter had two mechanical valves (aortic and mitral) put in at age 21 along with a patch on her aorta. She will have to have another open heart surgery at some point. Hugs to you, and I will ask her when she gets up if any of her "zipper sisters" have the issues you describe.

The doctor called me. They are looking at the aortic valve and aortic root. Echo techs don't tell us anything here.
