I still love them, but I don’t see them often. kellyr21’s Traveler’s Notebook (TN) seems like a type of mini album, and it reminded me of how much I love them. I still have a couple that are nearly done, but not quite. Life just got in the way, and I never completed them. How many here still love mini albums? Do you still do them? If so, have you done any in the last year or two?

Massive fan. But I've out-mini-albumed myself over the past 18 months... I love the 4X4, 4x5 and 4x5 formats the most although I also really enjoyed the 3x4 I made earlier this year. ETA: I've finished 5 mini albums since the start of the pandemic. Yah, I have a mini album problem.

I've been a lover of mini albums for many, many years. So much so that I have been known to buy mini albums for no projects in mind at all, just cause they are cute and I just had to have them. One time, back on the day, I got my hands on a set of beautiful faux suede 8x8 albums by K & Company in 3 earth tones that came in a box. I did my trips to Sedona in those. I was also obsessed with the 4x4 albums when they 1st came out even though my friends thought I was insane!
I love 6x8, 4x4, 8x8, Citrus twist size is my current obsession. Thru the years I've picked them up on sale and at TM and have a nice little stash to work with. And also have quite a few unfinished mini albums as well!
So yes, I definitely still love mini albums! The whole top of my Kallax is full of either completed or "in progress" minis!!
Edited to add: forgot to answer your question! As for ones started in the last year or 2, 6x8 one little word, 6x8 October daily & a Pandemic travlers notebook.

I have a handful of 6x8 albums, 2 with Halloween pics from over the years, and 3 with Hanukkah pics and song lyrics. I bring them out each year along with holiday decorations

I have made 2 mini-albums recently for new babies in my family. I am considering doing one for a trip we made to two national parks but I am afraid I have way too many pictures for the mini albums, plus I already printed them from Shutterfly in 4x6 size.

They are my favorite! I just finished one for my stepmom. I have a wealth of chipboard albums “just in case”. Next up is a mini for my daughter and her trip to Massachusetts. I had a Layle album that I had already put together and it’s perfect, just need to print photos.

I never liked the 4x4 size but I really like 3x8. 3x8 is as mini as I'll go for an album.

I love mini albums!! I don’t typically use for myself; I sell them! I made a 4x4 love themed mini just last weekend. I was cutting down some 12x12 sheets of journaling cards and two of the sheets inspired me. I found some coordinating patterned papers, lots of random bits from my stash and created it. I need to finish decorating the cover, add machine stitching, thread the tags with bakers twine and put together a beaded charm dangle. So it’s almost done!
I make 4x4 albums that use coasters as the front & back covers & colorful O rings to bind it together. I also make albums from scratch using heavyweight chipboard covered with 110lb. cardstock with lots of interactive elements that hold a ton of photos. I make mini albums using handmade envelopes or white paper bags as the base. I bought some of the Simple Stories flip books to try but haven’t yet. I also recently got a Cinch mini tool, so I’m looking forward to experimenting with ring bound albums soon.
ETA: I’ve made quite a few the last 1-2 years and I have another 6-8 in different stages of progress. The last one I completely finished in June was a thank you gift for a family friend that gave me the contents of her craft room. It was olive/kraft/blush/black with florals & butterflies that originated from an older Spellbinders card making kit I got in one of their clearance sales.

They're my preferred method of creating! 6x8 and smaller and also sometimes a traveler's notebook (I have yet to finish one but I have a few started).

I still make a few. My favorite and most loved mini album was one I made for my DH for Father’s Day in 2004. The grandkids look at it so much it is falling apart. It is a 6x6 album and I am having trouble finding that size. I would love any suggestions on where to find a new album.

I love mini albums. Used to make them all the time when I scrapbooked regularly. First scrapbook project I made last year after a long hiatus was our trip to Mackinac Island - used an older OA (I think) mini album. Getting used to the Citrus Twist/Traveler's Notebook sized albums too. I have a few I'm planning projects for.

I usually make them as a gift for fam/friends. Here is a YT video I made sharing the boxed card mini albums I learn to make from Heidi Swapp tutorial on Scrapbook.com. So cute and easy to make! I do like mini albums. I’ve done quite a few 6x6 & 8x8 I have a landscape 6x8 underway right now. ( well I’ve been working on it for a year) I’ve done all about me TN and a positivity passport in a passport sized notebook last year ( but not the official positivity passport ) I did WITL last year in portrait 6x8 and I’m supposed to add this years but I haven’t yet. Not sure if I will or will just do next year or next time instead.
8x8 is my go to gift album size.

I like them, but don't make them anymore. I used to give them as new baby gifts, etc. but somewhere along the line I just stopped.

I made my first "good" mini album for a niece. I used an 8x8 Doodlebug album and used all Doodlebug paper. I bought the full page 8x8 page protectors and made a page and put it in that. This album was for a niece that has two fluffy puppies--so it was a dog mini album. I got the pictures from her mother and put them in the album as I went. I used all 4x6 photos.
I just purchased a couple of the 6x8 Simple Stories Snap Albums. I was thinking about using Bella Blvd's Monsters and Friends paper and making a Halloween album.
I've also added to my stash some other size albums, 49 & Market, and Graphic 45 6x6 I think.
My question is, what size pictures do you use in these albums, especially the 6x8 size albums? (I pretty much give everything I make away.) If I make the albums with unusual size pictures, is the recipient going to know how to get the right size picture to put in the spot.
Anyway, any input on photo sizes will be appreciated.

I also purchased this Christmas paper bag album kit from Memory Bound. I thought it was a little pricey but figured by putting this together I could decide if I liked paper bag albums. On Memory Bound's Facebook page, they have a video showing each page of the Christmas album. I am in no way connected to Memory Bound. I just posted this in case anyone wants to give making a paper bag album a try.

Anyway, any input on photo sizes will be appreciated. I have to confess that while I love putting together mini albums, I have only put photos in one. I printed the photos in smaller sizes to fit, because the album itself was about 4x5. I would size 2 to 4 photos on a 4x6 photo and have them printed like a regular photo, then cut the photos apart. I hope that makes sense. Mini albums are like an amazing, elaborate, multi faceted card without the photos. The photos can make them more meaningful, but they are fun even without the pictures. I’ve bought and made 3 mini album kits (from Pinecone Press at Convention) and made others of my own from scratch. I love them all. They are just so fun to make.

I've made several mini albums as gifts. Most were 8x8, but a few were 6x6 and at least one was 6x8. About half were done with no photos as gifts (new baby, school days theme, 1-day outing, etc.), so they were very fun!!! I like doing that type. However, some of the minis I made WITH photos were a struggle because of the issue that scrapnnana and bluecrafterperson mentioned. In that sense the smaller ones (6x6) were actually easier because I knew going in that the pics would have to be small, with no more than one pic per page usually. It's the 8x8 minis with photos that I struggle with the most, because my brain wants me to put more than one picture on each page and I can rarely get them cropped to fit just the way I want. Invariably the photos I need for a particular page/double LO are either all horizontal or all vertical... Just leads me back to doing my good old multi-photo 12x12 pages.

It's so funny you asked this! I am going to be making a scrapbook of all the ticketed events my husband and I have gone to throughout the years. We have a few movie tickets that he thought would get lost in the shuffle, so I am going to make a 6x6 album for just movie tickets. We've known each other for almost ten years, married for almost 5, and we have seen maybe 5 movies at the movie theater? Maybe we'll get to go more often once this craziness is over. But I am excited for both projects. Hopefully it will be a de-stresser following the next few weeks of crazy for work.

Routine sizes for me are 8x8 and 8.5x11. I rarely do 12x12, just so big.

I had a long phase when I really enjoyed making mini albums. The smallest albums I scrap now are an occasional 8x8 post bound album for vacations. The majority of my scrapping is 12x12 now.

I’m not sure most people would know how to have pictures printed in those sizes and if they would actually do it. I think I would ask if they’d be interested before I went through all the work of making a gift album.

I love to build them -- I just don't USE them! I finally decided that I really didn't want a bunch of "just cute" albums sitting around doing nothing. The "minis" that I've actually used were no smaller than 6x8 - and they were "speciality" albums - a Gratitude album is one that comes to mind. I still have purchased mini albums to be made for a gift ... some day ... maybe.

Not using them is why I stopped making them, but they are fun to make and to look at, even without photos. I started a gratitude album. I think I should still finish that one, as well as the recipe album I was making to hold my mother’s special recipes. I would use both of those. I have another one that I started at least a couple of years ago. I nearly finished it. It was intended more as an exercise in creativity than for actually using, though.

Invariably the photos I need for a particular page/double LO are either all horizontal or all vertical... Debbi Tehrani, a former pea scraps 8x8. She typically uses one photo, but there's some pages with 2-3 photos.
ETA: I've been trying to use up scraps or really old paper in a 6x8 album. I cut card stock to 6x9 and use my WRMK punch board to punch the holes for the rings. I plan on adding quotes.
