When I was a child I was riding in the back seat behind my dad driving and a deer ran right into the side window. The window and door were badly damaged but I was OK.
In the 1970's a large dog or other animal ran into my front bumper and pushed the front on my car into itself. It was inverted essentially.

Yes, a deer ran into the driver's side of my car. I heard a loud bang and asked my daughter what the heck that was. She saw the deer run off into the field. The only damage was a long horizontal scrape along the bottom of the front and back doors on the driver's side (hoof?) and the window had a bunch of saliva or snot smeared on it!
A deer jumped off a bridge over a freeway, landed and broke through my girlfriend's daughter's windshield. Thank goodness she didn't have a passenger, and was able to keep control of the car until pulling over. I can't imagine the shock she went through.

My mom was hit by a deer a few months ago. She was driving home in her brand new car, heading from our house to hers. Very rural, mix of fields and forest. The deer literally hit her, came out of a field at dusk. He hit her drivers side door, thank God moms window was closed. The door was crushed, blood, fur, and deer saliva on the window, dented the door frame and somehow cracked the windshield as well.
She called me as a police officer was pulling up to her. I got to her, talked to the cop, he said that many people try to say that the deer hit them, but in her case it was completely obvious that the deer really did her lol Other than a bruise from the seatbelt she was fine. Her car? Not so much, but at least it wasn't totaled.
