My youngest will start his senior year next week. It will be much different than his brother's senior year (18-19) as ods was a three sport varsity player and yds has decided to work instead.
Who else has a rising senior?

DS is a senior this year. Since he’s my only and XDH decided to step away a few years ago, this Mom is really anxious about having an empty nest.

Tomorrow my daughter starts her senior year at a brand new high school. It combined three smaller area schools into one large mega school. Add that uncertainty to the whole COVID situation in TN and I have a nervous kid. And so is mom.

My middle son is a Senior. I am so sad as he is just the best kid and will be moving out a year from now. I am cherishing every minute and trying not to transfer my sadness on him. I tell him all the time “I am so happy you are growing up and becoming independent,” but, on the inside I am crying! 😭

My teen is a rising senior.
The virtual school experience for them since March 2020 has been garbage, and I'm excited for them to be back in the classroom, but also bittersweet because this is their big year and I want it to go smoothly, and be happy, and for them to experience all the fun milestones of senior year.
And I'm nervous as heck about the college application process. I have no idea how to go about it, and have zero faith in the ONE guidance counselor for a school of nearly a thousand students being able to assist.

My son, my youngest will be doing a second year of grade 12 to get extra needed credits this fall. I’m torn. He is my baby, I wish nothing but the best for him, but with autism I just don’t know what his future holds. We are undecided if he will stay with virtual school, it was a very positive experience for him, or switch back to his previous high school, that was a horrible experience for the three years he attended there.

Maybe, maybe not! My son is supposed to do Year 12 next year (our school years run from end of January through to December). But there is a chance he may be offered a building apprenticeship at the end of this year, in which case he will leave school after Year 11. If he doesn't get an apprenticeship then he will do Year 12 / pre-apprenticeship.

My son! He is 17 and will be a senior. He is in a technical school so will graduate as an electrician. He's a pre-apprentice now I'm hoping they get to do senior activities!

I teach some of it and there were things I missed with my older son.

Honestly, for me it would depend on why it was a horrible experience. If it was students and they have all graduated and he wants to go back to in person, then go for it. Otherwise, I'd lean toward virtual and if he has an IEP, I would make it reflect that.

My youngest starts his senior year in September. I think he is going to struggle with the schedule, the past year and a half have been so unusual. I am really looking forward to him returning to a more normal routine.

I am a host parent and I will have two, possibly three, seniors this year. (One is still waiting to get her Visa so she can come over from VietNam). My one returning girl is very active with school activities....swim team, debate team, student council, robotics club, International club president... and taking five AP courses.
