I am so sorry to hear about your shingles and that you have had them THREE times. I hope they go away asap and you are feeling better very quickly.

Ugh, I am SO sorry that this is your THIRD time !!! And, how awful that you are in the THREE percent of people that the vaccine doesn't work for! I know from being on 2peas for 21 years that you deal with very special-needs sons, AND that you've been through breast cancer. Also, sorry about the loss of your MIL. I am always amazed/ shocked / sad that some people have MULTIPLE terrible things happen to them, but others don't. I hope, like others said--that having the vaccine AT LEAST helps this new case to be less horrible! Many (( hugs ))
Now, something light-hearted

Oh no! I’m so sorry. I hope that it runs its course quickly and you’re feeling better soon.
I got my 2nd Shingrix vaccine last Monday. It kicked my ass.

Holy crapoly! This is so not okay. 3 times is just wrong! And on top of everything else. Ugh, no more please.
I had the other shingles shot and 2 weeks later the shingrix one came out. 😡 My Dr said she would order an antibody panel to see if I'm protected well. I had chickenpox along with measles on top of my existing head to toe poison ivy rash at age 8, while my mother, of 5, was having an emergency complete hysterectomy. At 21 I got about 20 chickenpox. I was in the military, but saw a German dr that vaccinated me. I was 21 it was 1985, before the chicken pox vaccine was a thing here. While going thru chemo at 38, I got chicken pox again, but only about 10. By the time I was in my late 20s I was allergic to prednisone, and dread poison oak. Chemo was no joke without it either.
My niece had shingles at 10. Should she consider the vaccine though she is only 30?

And you paid $250 to get the shots? That is evil! Doubt it. Most insurance companies cover it. Mine did.

Prednisone turns me into a starving-for-sugar monster. It's a side effect that you're cranky. Do not apologize. You are suffering.

How awful. ☹️ I hated the lack of sleep and crankiness for the 5 days each chemo round I had to take it, but can’t imagine what the side effects would have been without it. Oh no! I’m so sorry. I hope that it runs its course quickly and you’re feeling better soon. I got my 2nd Shingrix vaccine last Monday. It kicked my ass. I’m sorry. The COVID vaccine was a walk in the park compared to Shingrix. Hopefully it only lasted a few days for you like it did for me.

Being physically uncomfortable along with lack of sleep makes me a horrible human. I am so sorry. I hope your family is extra sweet to you until you’re better.

That sucks! I hope the meds they gave you are at least helping some. Shingles is miserable, I know several people who have had it. I think I heard on TV that people can get the vaccine for that right at the pharmacy, so maybe that will be the route I go since I think I’m kind of overdue for mine. I got my Shingrix vaccines right at CVS in Target. My doctor's office didn't have it available. elaine Your family can suck it up. Of course you are cranky! I hope you recover quickly.

That is just not fair! I hope your meds help kick Shingles butt asap!
I am getting my first Shingrix vaccine later this week at my CVS. I've heard the vaccine can make you feel crummy so I'm waiting until I get my haircut on Wednesday. (priorities!)

I'm so sorry, Elaine! It's such a mean illness. "Oh, you're super stressed? Here, have THIS, too!"
I hope you continue to feel better and that you're all healed quickly.
Sending a gentle hug...
