I really don’t want to spend a ton but I’ve bought several cheaper versions and they don’t last beyond a few months.

I have had my fitbit iconic for 4 years and love it. It was the first waterproof one and I swim a lot. It is a bit big on my wrist. So when this one dies I will replace it with latest much smaller waterproof fitbit. FTR I have a google phone. My fitbit was significantly cheaper than dd's apple watch
My DD has the apple watch 5 for 2+ years and loves it. She loves closing the rings, It tracks a lot more than my fitbit, heart rate etc. everyday and uses it with her Dexcom 6 for her T1 diabetes. It is water resistant but not water proof. She is an apple fan, laptop, ipad iphone.

Absolutely the Apple watch! Apple's customer service is SO MUCH better than Fitbit's. SO MUCH.

I love my Apple Watch 3, it's going on 4 yrs old. Someone gifted me a Fitbit Heart Rate Charge II --I tried but found it difficult for me to use. I bought my Apple watch and found it just easier to use. When I need to, I'll replace with whatever newest version is out

What phone do you have?
I’ve had both a Fitbit and an Apple Watch, and I much prefer the Apple, but I also have an iPhone.

I was always a FitBit girl. Had countless over the years but I would never go back. I am an Apple watch girl all the way (for almost 2 years now). It can do SO much more, and even the EKGs are great. My daughter's interventional cardiologist always looks at her EKGs from her watch. He also runs his own but the watch is accurate. It's an amazing piece of technology in SO many ways.
