The thread about projects you can’t seem to finish got me thinking it was time to work on those.
The other day I finally did a repair on a mini album (too much love from a grandchild) that I’d put off for at least 2 years. It took a chunk of time, but now it looks like it was never damaged.
Two days ago, I pulled out a mini album that was about 2/3 to 3/4 of the way to being done and started working on it again. I had put it away because I just ran out of ideas (it’s a project that I was creating myself, not a project that was designed by someone else). I’m happy with what I’ve done so far. Hopefully I’ll get it finished soon.
I need to get back to working on my Disney album, too.
Has anyone else been encouraged by that thread to get going on their unfinished projects again?

Don't hate me, but I don't have any unfinished projects. Once I start something, I have to finish it before I move on to something else.
Years ago, I went through my closet and got rid of all the projects I had started in various classes but never completed. I kept whatever pieces and products I thought I could use on other projects, and I tossed what I knew I would never use. Since then, I've never left anything unfinished.
I don't count books that haven't been used. I have a few of those that will become my journals when I need to start new ones. But the book bases are finished.
I'm glad you were able to fix that album and have plans to work on another.

While I was purging my space I took the time to put in the school photos of the kids that I had procrastinated doing into the portrait album I have for them. It's just a CM album with Spargo pages. I don't embellish it at all. Just add the photo and journal age, grade, year. It wasn't a big thing to do, but mentally it kinda was and I feel so good having got that done.
My mini purge is complete and my youngest is heading back to college this weekend. I'm starting to feel a little inspired to maybe get those dreaded (LOL) school albums finished.

currently I'm switching back and forth - a month worth of a current(ish) album...right now that's March 2021 and then I work on a UFO. My most recent was Disney 2009 but I also got DS's Hawaii 2020 finished, and his Navy albums caught up through June 2021 this summer as well as December 2019 and December 2015.
Once I finish up March 2021, I'm going to switch gears and try and finish January 2020. Then I'll go back to 2021 and work on May (April is done) and then I'll pick another older month or trip and then back to do June...
or at least that's the plan...

I put a couple of unfinished projects onto my Aug goals list but so far I haven't actually done anything towards completing those.

I go out to the studio to work a project or sometimes just get some ideas. "Sometimes I sits and thinks, and sometimes I just sits." A.A. Milne. And where is msliz The Procrastinator in this posting?

I did split my Pandemic Album by year (2020 & 2021).
It also gave me a minute to read through all the pages I've done so far, from the very beginning, and made me really appreciate it all. All of the emotion, all of the new information, the craziness, it's all captured.
I think it'll be really interesting to look back on in ten years' time.

I have several unfinished albums from the early 2000's. A page or so then nothing. I think I am going to put them all in one album, though the pages don't relate they will be in one place and I can consider them finished.

I didn't go back to work on the UFO I listed in the other post, but I worked on a different project to finish it up. Does that count? LOL

I wouldn't call my progress on 2021 PL as finished, but I went from nothing done, to having pictures all the way through July and some cards in pockets. It's a start at least!

It did get me thinking and put me into kind of a bit of a tailspin cause I have my 1st Grandbaby due at the end of December and it made me think of all the unfinished projects and how obsessed I am going to be become wanting to just scrap the baby once he gets here!
So ya, I'm working on 1st finishing the page that's been sitting on my desk for about 3 weeks. Now I have the time to scrapbook but no energy or motivation. So I haven't done a real page in months! But all that's left is Journaling.
Then it's time to kick it into to high gear and get to work.
1st my 2020 project life that I started few months ago and only got to Feb. Then Journaling in a 4x4 San Diego trip album that's all that's needed for it to be done! Lookin at squeezing in last year's unfinished October daily. And several other projects, not to mention the neverending Disney albums.
And I want to crochet a baby blanket. Mind you I haven't crocheted in years! 😂 We will see how this goes and what gets done!

I organize photos in chronological order in page protectors and scrap what I want. Finished and unfinished all go into one album. I used to like having finished albums. I realized I'm the one who looks at the albums the most. I might as well scrap the photos that I want and leave the rest to someday be finished. I try to at least have the dates and people documented and some quick journaling (if needed) on a piece of paper in the protectors.

I tend to scrap whatever photos I have ideas for. Often, though, the ones that are the special occasions (wedding, new baby, etc.) don’t get scrapped because they need to be phenomenal. I need to work on that. When I get pics printed, I do what you describe, although I haven’t been writing up the journaling. I should add that. Then I go through and start scrapping them. I keep them in a binder style album, so I can swap out the pocket pages for regular protectors as I get some pics scrapped. I need to get photos printed and get more regular pages done. I haven’t printed pics for awhile. Obviously, I need to work on that, too.

I have 12x12 envelopes of specific embellishments and paper for those special things I want to scrap. For me, I think it's more about telling the story. I'm not great at writing. I do a lot more event pages.
I am also behind on photo printing. If the photos don't particularly inspire me to make a whole page, I use a divided sheet protector instead and do minimal embellishing.

This is another unfinished project I too need to get caught up on as well! I used to be so great at having all my photos printed out. Then I fell behind and now that I'm years behind it's so overwhelming. But I love having them printed out and organized into those Iris storage cases and labeled so if something ever happens the kids can at least have the physical photos to go thru. And it's easier for me to scrap when they are all printed! I need to work on this as well.
