In the study posted on the waiving billing thread, this sentence stood out.
[/b]
And I wondered about here. If you have employer supplied health care (even if you pay for it, is your deductible higher, lower, or very close to this figure?

I didn't see the original thread. I'm assuming we are talking about health insurance?
I don't have a deductible on my health insurance, so I guess I'm technically in the "lower" category.
ETA-SO SORRY! I totally missed the "employer HEALTH plans". lol

Higher. Much higher when you consider the family deductible.

Slightly lower @ $1500 with a max out of pocket of $4500 which I met this contract year:(

I'm on a plan by myself and my deductible is $7,000. I don't remember what it is for the family plan.
DH and kids are on a separate copay plan, so they don't have a deductible. (That's a whole different story. DH's employer changed to where they only cover spouse if spouse doesn't have insurance offered through their work...doesn't matter if it's crappy insurance.)

We have a choice of 600 or 1200.
I did 600 for a long time (more expensive) but never met the deductible so a couple of years ago I switched to 1200 which costs less.

Our deductible is $350/person not to exceed $1050 per family. Our maximum out of pocket cost is $6600/person not to exceed $13200 per family.

We have been on a HDHP by choice. My former employer offered a $500 family deductible, a $1500 family deductible and a qualifying HDHP with a $2600 family deductible. Premiums were reasonable for the first two, but my employer covered the entire family premium for the HDHP, so we went with that and put what our premiums have been (plus more) into an HSA. It makes sense for us, as we're generally low insurance users - just preventative care. Of course, this year, DS broke his arm and we hit our deductible on that alone (we have not hit our deductible for the past 5 years, I believe). And a week after we hit our deductible, I'm changing jobs and we get to start over with a new deductible lol. This time we do not have an HDHP option, so our family deductible is only $500.

Our deductible is $3,000/individual, and $6,000/family. Maximum out of pocket are those same amounts. We pay 100% of all costs until we reach that $3,000/each, then insurance picks up 100% of the tab for the rest of the calendar year. There is an HSA account we use to pay medical costs from. DH's company provides the bulk of our HSA contribution and we contribute the rest to the maximum allowed by law. DH has been in the hospital since Aug 3. Since he made his deductible in late March due to some Rx that he takes, this entire stay has been fully covered, for which I am very thankful.

It's the maximum out of pocket cost that kills you. You think, oh, my deductible is this...and then they hit ya with....but....it just sucks.

Itβs about the best thing that I can say about Tricare insurance. If you have Prime insurance, you agree to see doctors at the military treatment facility first and need a referral for ANY sort of specialty care. But you have $0 copays and deductibles. Even for my college kids who had the other option (canβt remember the name but they see private doctors), they have a $1,000 deductible and then we pay 20% after that.
Iβve had incredible doctors in the system and some real doozies. Iβm looking at you, Dumfries Family Health Center.

I have a $4,500 deductible per person (my husband and I) and a maximum out-of-pocket per person of $8,700. Our monthly premium is $1,000 a month. Just crazy !

Tricare Standard is the other one. π Tricare Prime is the one where you stick with MTF doctors where possible. Iβve had to see people outside the MTF system for my thyroid eye disease and my deductible was $1500. And then for my sonβs ABA therapy for the past several years, we have to pay a $33 co-pay per session until weβve paid $1500 in co-pays and then Tricare picks up the whole cost. We always hit the deductible within 6 months the past 3 years.

Since I rarely go to the doctor (1 time in the last 3 years), I have an HMO that is restricted to "in network". If I were to go out of network they don't cover any portion. I do not have a deductible and my OOP is $3,500.

Mine are generally for once or twice a year for lab work- to be sure everything is ok since many diseases don't have blatant symptoms( thyroid, high cholesterol, etc).

$11,500 - family. I have a good plan, too. Not the base plan. Last year I paid over $10K out of pocket PLUS my premiums which were probably about $8-10K
I have a new plan starting in Oct with my new company. I pay about $12-14K premiums but only (!!) a $6K deductible.
This for me and one child (medical, dental, vision)
I am not including critical care and LTD which I pay separately.

I *think* mine is $1600. I have Type 1 diabetes, so I meet that deductible by the end of Q1.

We are 5,000 individual and 17,000 max oop. Our insurance runs a from 7/1 through 6/30.
I am currently on day 23 at the hospital following my sons brain surgery. We will hit our mac within the next week, as I only need 33.00 to make my oop max. My husband works for a company of under 50 employees, they do the best they can for our insurance.

My husband works for a company of under 50 employees, they do the best they can for our insurance. I also work for a small company (~40 employees) and have a $500 family deductible, $3000 family OOP max. Monthly premiums are $400 for the family, including health, dental, and vision. Your husband's employer *could* do better by their employees but opt to prioritize other things. I hope your son is recovering well and can get out of the hospital soon.

That is pretty much the extent of my Dr visits. Due to COVID, I haven't gotten either since early 2019. I was planning to go this year but now that COVID is ramping up, I'm rethinking it. I'm really trying to stay out of doctors offices/places where sick people go.

Our individual deductible is $490 with a $980 family max (three of us). Out of pocket max is $2800 individually and $5600 in total. It's the plan for state employees and really pretty generous.

They ask that you do video visits if you have covid symptoms and then send you off for a test that is not done in the office
