For those of you with kids who mainly scrap about them, what do you do when you scrap a LO about yourself - do you put it in the family album along with all the other layouts, or do you have a separate album for you?
I was putting mine in a separate album, but now I’m rethinking that, for a few reasons. 1. I like the idea of everything being together (I scrap what I like, but put them in albums chronologically) 2. More and more I’m deciding these albums are for me, to be able to look back and remember, rather than shipping off with my kid when he leaves the nest, and 3. Being a boy mom, I previously did most of the LOs about me using pink, both because initially I didn’t really use it otherwise and to use up my pink products, but now I’m so over pink because it’s way too ubiquitous and I’m really sick of it, but when I flip through “my” album, it’s nothing but pink and kinda makes me cringe.
I like the idea of doing something separate for my memories and pre-kid stories (maybe a 6x8 ongoing album), but I’m trying to decide about the concurrent pages.

I have a separate album for everyone then a family one. The only albums I have that are chronological are my PL. I loosely follow Stacy Julian's album organization, but tweaked for my needs.

I put mine in the same album for the reasons you listed. For me, it's primarily because I want to keep everything in order chronologically.

This is how I have my albums as well. One for everyone - not chronological, I just put the layouts in the next empty pp. And a family album. cbscrapper I'm a boy mom too, but I love using all the floral girly papers in my album, I'm not big on pink, so there is a good mix of colors.

Mine are in a separate album. I scrap a lot of "objects" like the quilt my grandma made me, and don't want to try to remember if I made the layout in 2016. Plus it was weird flipping though an album about what we did for Valentime's or Easter and then there's a random layout about my cookie jar...

both?
everyday 'me' layouts are in the family album - the family album basically is a chronological photo album with pretty papers and some journalling. I don't scrap chronologically but I do albums chronologically. I don't do separate kid albums with a few exceptions (first year album, sports, scouts) so the family ones have the kids, the cats, the garden, day trips, events, holidays etc...
But I do have a "about me" album I started years ago when that was a thing - I haven't added to it in a while but I probably will at some point. It's prompt based and not all layouts have photos.

We scrap very much the same way! I did do albums up to five years for my kids (still don't have the 12 year olds done). I do have a birthday, Halloween, Easter, misc. holidays, and Christmas albums to put out during the birthday month or with the holiday decorations. Those are my slightly more embellished albums that will probably never be up to date. The family albums are very photo heavy with minimal embellishing.
But I do have a "about me" album I started years ago when that was a thing - I haven't added to it in a while but I probably will at some point. It's prompt based and not all layouts have photos. This is a good idea! I have lots of ideas saved that I think would go good in an all about me album. I have a really old Creating Keepsakes book about scrapping yourself. My issue is getting started!!!! I overthink what size? What papers? What brand? What format?

I have this pinterest board for ideas, some of them are more unique to me than an "all about me" in general. Some are really old ones from two peas that I saved before they were gone. nylene I see a layout in there that you did!

My issue is getting started!!!! I overthink what size? What papers? What brand? What format? I picked 8.5x11 because that's my standard album format and back when I started it - there weren't as many options as there are now. I have the layouts in a 3-ring binder for now (all my incomplete albums are - I buy an album when it's complete...or for on-going albums - when I have an album's worth complete). I didn't pick a paperline or colour scheme - each layout is individual so it's nice and eclectic. edited - I haven't worked on mine for a while -not because I don't have ideas (I do) but because it feels like I need to work on the family albums first and then fit it in - I should probably make a goal of doing one layout a month or something in my album

I've put them in several places. I started with my own 12x12 album, but that's a lot of LOs with pictures from before I had kids (LOs I do when I feel like scrapping something other than my boys). I then started an 8.5x11 album, but haven't added any to either album for a few years now. Right now I'm at the point where I just include anything that's about me in the 12x12 family album--partly because I forget about the other two albums and if I do remember the smaller one I forget it's not 9x12 and end up having to trim it down to fit it in there...

Okay, anyone reading this thread, can you see my pinterest link in my previous post? I cannot figure out why I can't randomly see embedded tweets and links to pinterest when I use my laptop.
