I started a Persnickety Box sub when it debuted this spring. It's an app where you "swipe" (inspired by Tinder) 30 photos each month into your box. PP prints them in 4x4 size and you get a box in the mail which you can store them in if you wish. My question: I love the idea because I really like PP quality. However, in reality, 4x4 photos are not my preferred size and PP has no plans to change it up or offer other sizes. I really don't want to collect a set of small boxes - and photo albums are not geared for this size. They're fine for scrapping, but I also want a majority of those photos to put in albums. Has anyone else subbed? What are your thoughts or ideas on how to use them?

The odd size is exactly why I didn't sub. It's a cool idea but that size just doesn't work for me. I thought about getting for my MIL so we could send her photos every month, but I don't know that she wants a bunch of boxes either. I hope someone has a good suggestion for you. I'd love to see what people are doing.

It seemed like the offering was geared to people who don’t usually print photos, mostly use Instagram and only make square photos, and wouldn’t put them in albums so the boxes would be a kind of mini album alternative for them. None of those things really sounded like me and it sounded relatively expensive in the long run for something I wouldn’t find very useful. If it were me I would want to ship the boxes back to them and have them figure out how to dispose of them responsibly! I’m more interested in the chat books type of offering where you get something to page through. I’m not sure what kind of solution you’re looking for - maybe 6x8 pages with a couple of inches down the side for a caption? Or are you looking for a photo album suggestions?

I ended up cancelling the sub yesterday for the reasons you listed...I was initially hooked by the thought of getting my photos printed on the regular, with minimal effort. But it's clearly not working for me. I'll just fill the 5 boxes I paid for and call it a lesson learned.
