Dh and I have the chance to go see Garth Brook's "farewell" concert tour tomorrow night. Dh is more of a Garth Brooks fan than I am, but we've heard that he sings his old songs and still moves around the stage like he did in his 20s.
Dh is kinda on the fence about going, but I think he'd really like to see him in concert. We listened to a lot of Garth Brooks when we were dating in the 90s, so I think the concert would be fun and romantic.
I can't dance around for a whole concert though. Do people stand up the entire time?

I haven't seen him since 1998, but I can tell you it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to, hands down. I'm hoping that he comes somewhere close so I can see him again.
You really don't have to stand the whole time. You might want to check into handicapped seating if its something you think you need?

the venue sold out immediately, but dh's coworker is selling a couple of tix. I'm not sure if I can just walk into the venu and ask for seating in the handicap area. I don't have to stay in a wheelchair, but I will need to sit down--that can be unpleasant when everyone around you is standing up.
I just don't want to waste the money because I can't see--but surely in the higher seats people will be sitting so they can see, too, right?
I'm sorry. I've never been to a concert that was not classical or opera, so I don't know what to expect.

I'm going to the show tomorrow night. I have never seen Garth Brooks but I have been to lots of other concerts. People definitely do not stand up the whole time. I even sat down some at the Rick Springfield concert I went to this summer Pretty much any slow song or ballad people will sit down.

I'm going to disagree about the standing up thing. People stand at concerts these days. I went to a Tim McGraw concert last summer and we stood the entire time. I can't imagine a Garth concert being any different. That doesn't mean you can't sit and rest, but you likely won't be able to see.

My friend just went two nights ago to see him. She said he was out of breath a lot and he commented "I am a biscuit short of 260 lb." She said it was very funny but he was definitely not what he was. She had a great time though, and Trisha Yearwood was there also.

My husband is going this morning to try to get tickets to one of the Boston shows in January. It's all I asked for for Christmas. Unfortunately I expect we'll be standing most of the night. We saw Miranda Lambert last year and stood about 80% of the night so we could see.

My SIL went to a concert last week and posted several pics on FB. Everyone was standing in her pics.

My DD and SIL went with a couple friends and one of my coworkers and his wife went. All of them said it was an awesome, awesome concert. Garth did back to back concerts two nights in a row when he was here. He might be a biscuit short of 260, but I have to say that would take some stamina.

She had a great time though, and Trisha Yearwood was there also. I went to the show on the 8th, and he said exactly that. We stood for the entire concert, you couldn't see otherwise. He was very energetic, but out of breath and sounding like he was about to lose his voice. There was no opening act, but Trisha Yearwood came out halfway through and sang a half dozen songs. It was a great show, lots of fun.

I have not been to a concert in this tour, but the last time I went to a Garth Brooks concert everyone stood the whole time.
I'm in the concerts = standing camp.
Now it may be different during this tour bc his fan base is aging along with him, but I don't know. People will definitely stand at least part of the time.
Do you know the venue well? Have you considered things like stairs required to get to your seats?

I saw him in October in Jacksonville Florida. He did 6 shows I believe in Jacksonville and the show we went to was I believe the 5th. It was a much smaller venue because fewer tickets were sold for the show. I saw the entire show.I was 12 year up from the floor and about seven rows back from the front of that level with no one in front of me.
He performed most of his old songs, and one of his songs off his new album that came out this month. He played for two and a half hours with about a half an hour break in the middle for Trisha Yearwood to do six songs.one of the members of his band opened for him. She had written songs for Tricia and others.
The last time I saw him he was 33. Just like me he's put on some pounds since then, and unlike me his hair has gotten a little thinner. To me he was still as amazing as he was back in 1993.he was very energetic but he has slowed down some.as always he was very appreciative of his fans.

Best concert ever! (And I go to alot of concerts of all different kinds of music!) I just went to one of his 11 shows in Minneapolis and it was AMAZING! Beyond AMAZING! He puts on a true show with all of his old music. DH and I both went together in 1998 when we were dating and again this month. After the concert, we both decided we wished we would have bought tickets for more than one show. If you get the chance....GO!

I'm going to be out at the Coliseum tonight, but not for the concert...my kid has her first swim meet tonight at the aquatics center right next door Her team has been sending emails all week about the pending traffic chaos, so we plan to get there early. If you're going tonight, parking is $20...brace yourselves.

I haven't seen Garth but it is on my bucket list. I definitely cannot stand up for very long (severe arthritis in the knees and back) but even if I had to sit and not see him, I'd still attend. I'd love to hear him in person! Maybe next tour as the tickets for the Tulsa concerts sold out within minutes. I love Garth and love Trisha.
