I'm looking to buy a water pik water flossing, but there are so many.
Do you have one you love? One you hate? Anything I should look for?
I have an older one, but it is fairly large. I wouldn't mind downsizing

I had a waterpik. I had to have the hose from the water tank to the pic replaced twice. I finally just bought an inexpensive one on amazon. Smaller and works better than the waterpik ever did.

I have a $35 cordless Waterpik from Walmart and it works great.

Something to consider, you want to make sure that it is in a room without a toilet (or you are certain the toilet never gets flushed when the seat is open), or that there is room in an easy to reach cabinet to store it. So easy to throw my toothbrush in my drawer it didn’t occur to me what a pain it would be to unplug and move every time. In my next home I am going to have a deep medicine cabinet with built in plugs.

this was one I was looking at. Aquarius Ultra Or the ion I really like it. It comes with multiple heads and has a lot of speeds. My toilet is in a separate room but the heads are stored inside the machine with the cover closed.

I have a waterpik and toothbrush combo. I looked very quickly for a link for you and mine didn't come up immediately, but waterpik now has a new toothbrush/waterpik combo. So it's a toothbrush and waterpik in one. I think it's called a sonic fusion.
Good luck

I have the cordless one and love it.
A tip my dental hygienist told me was to put mouthwash/water mixture in the pik. I just put about half and half and I just rinse out the pik with water when I'm done.

Yes but the piece it attaches too still sometimes hits my mouth, or is near enough, that it squiks me out. Felt the same about keeping the sonic toothbrush on the stand to charge and just putting the head in the drawer. When it needs charging I put it in another room entirely. I never thought of this. Does bacteria from the toilet go airborne and land on toothbrushes and etc? Yes, I’ve read lots of articles with studies that swipe and look for germs on various objects in the bathroom. I forget what the range is, or if the items have to be in a direct line (or if maybe a wall like freecharlie has will protect them), but it made me . Fortunately I hate things on countertops, but I know I used to occasionally leave my toothbrush or hairbrush out, and didn’t clean my faucet handles as much as I do now. (Also why DH and I won’t take off our masks even in the bathroom these days).

I saw this on some cleaning show many years ago and since then have always kept my toothbrushes away from the toilet. Yes, those bacteria particles can land on your toothbrush. My dh is an ardent lid closer and has gotten me into the habit too so I don’t worry as much about bacteria now. It’s one of my favorite things about him.

I just told my husband this is yet another reason he needs to close the toilet seat. :-)

Check out this Myth Buster episode. The toothbrushes that were the controls, that were in the kitchen, away from the bathroom, even grew pink colonies.... go.discovery.com/tv-shows/mythbusters/videos/surprise-toothbrush-minimyth/

Just had my teeth cleaned this week and the hygienist (who was new) was after me to use a Waterpik religiously. Glad to see the great suggestions you all mentioned. That cordless one might get me more eager to use it regularly.

I recently bought one that my periodontist had at the office. But I wish I had looked around. I like the idea of a smaller, more portable one. But I wonder if those hold enough water?

Mine holds more than enough water. I only fill it up half way, and still don't use it all in one "water flossing." And BTW, hubby needed a new one since his is starting to leak. It's really old. Anyway, I found Walgreen's had it cheaper than amazon when I ordered online, and I was able to use a coupon. Just thought I would share.
