If you must choose between only gold or silver, which one of the two metallics do you prefer on your layouts/cards/projects? How often &/or when do you include metallics in your color palette? TIA.
UPDATE: As of 9/6, the poll is tied!

I don't use a lot of metal based products in my scrapbooking.
If I had to choose, it would be silver. Although my true preference would be neither one.

I use gold pretty frequently, generally in the colour shine mist, but I'm not averse to other gold products. Although I don't wear gold, I prefer the warmer tone for my scrapbook pages as I feel it better complements my photos.

I use a lot of blues & reds so I've always preferred silver because another color I use a lot is gray. I've never been a fan of gold and usually only use it for Christmas albums (mostly because it's usually part of the collection's color scheme).

Gold! I love it with pastels.

I picked silver because I find it slightly easier to use - I do like gold with Christmas though. I don't use a ton of metallics but I'm not adverse to any of them

I love metallics in card making. I would say 99% of the time I only use it for an accent or a layer where just a small border shows. I use both equally, with silver being a slight preference. I once had an Anna Griffin card stock package that was gold, silver, pink and cream and each color was metallic and pearl. Loved that pack.
I love metallics for Christmas cards in red, green, blue, silver and gold. As with other cards, I only use it for accents and matting. I find metallic card stock to be relatively expensive. Because of this if I’m going to mat a card layer using metallics, I cut the center out since it doesn’t show anyway. Saves on card stock and the weight of the card when mailing.

I don’t use a lot of metallics, but when I do, it is more often silver. I use a lot of blues in my crafting, and while blues and gold still look lovely, I just prefer the silver with blues.
I have to admit, though, I am usually using metallics to actually represent actual metals, such as silverware, chains, or, um……swords. (We love Renaissance Fairs and went to them often pre-covid.)

I don’t use either, really, and don’t have a preference. I think it just depends on what I’m working with. If forced to pick I think I’d go with gold.

Honestly, I like them both, but only in little doses. I think gold has been overdone. I even like bronze sometimes. But not into rose gold at all.

I love gold foil in particular and I often use it to mat photos.

I prefer gold but I don’t use a lot of it. Last night I was going through a Dear Lizzy Lovely Day paper pad and I tossed some of the papers with the silvery sheen. I don’t think I’d ever use them.

Though I don't use metals very often, I avoid yellow gold like the plague. I love white gold or silver. I say this for both my crafting and jewelry wearing.

I prefer to wear white gold or sterling silver, but I have to use gold a lot in scrapping, as my high school colors were black and gold and my undergraduate colors were green and gold. I also think gold works better for Christmas stuff, but silver is better for the 4th of July.

I much prefer silver, but rarely use in paper crafting because gold is so dominant on supplies right now. I’d rather use the paper & embellishments that have gold foiling than not buy/use them at all.

I prefer silver in my jewelry, but I think I use gold more in crafting. Maybe it's availability, maybe it just goes better with my projects. That being said, I don't think I should have to choose! LOL!

I prefer silver, and in washi I like silver holo foil. There are times when I use gold, but definitely I lean towards silver.

silver. when it comes to metal, it's a better base for me if i am going to cover it with alcohol ink.

I prefer gold, but find silver easier to work with. Gold can have so many different undertones, I find it more difficult to match. Also, it seems more formal and I don't always want to convey that.
Fun poll!

I don't discriminate in my metallics - I use them both - even for Christmas. Golds are hard to match though from different manufacturers
In my jewellery - I prefer white gold and silver - don't wear gold

Thanks for participating in the poll & your responses. I prefer silver, but don't use metallics often (probably due to the lack of silver supplies available). Perhaps an extension of yellow being my least favorite color, I dislike gold which is pervasive in scrapbook, especially holiday themed products. I wish silver was equally represented/included in scrapbook collections.
