katybee I could not be more sorry. I feel like we have traveled this road together, with your brother and my DH both having renal cancer. GIANT hugs, dear friend.

I am so very sorry. I could load this post up with a bunch of four letter words to say what I think about cancer. I have lost so many precious people to this demon.
I lost my sweet father to liver cancer back in 2006. He had hepatocellular carcinoma. It was late stage by the time he was diagnosed. I am an only child, so I rarely slept during the time he had trying to research ANYTHING that could help him. I learned a lot let's just say.
If you have ANY questions, or just need to talk, PM me. You know the Peas are always here for you.

I am so sorry. I know it is something we have to endure but losing someone slowly to cancer is just excruciating. I think maybe it's the ups and downs, fearing their suffering and extending the grief over several years. I hope in 100 years things will be better and they will look back and shake their heads at what people went through. It definitely brings out the beauty and strength of spirit in humanity as well though.

I'm so sorry. I'm working through treatment for breast cancer, with my final chemo on Tuesday (yay) but another year of 3-weekly injections and another 5-10 years of side-effects-laden hormone medication. They've told me that the surgery was 'curative' and the rest is preventative. I try so hard to stay upbeat and positive, then stories like your brother's, moodyblue 's and @bergdorfblonde 's frighten me. I can't help it. Cancer absolutely sucks. Big hugs from me. Just as a reminder: EVERY case is vastly different! DH had previous chemo 17 mos ago. He's had cancer for 9 years, but it became aggressive a few years ago, and that's when we fought to go to Moffitt and have his chemo and to remove his bladder/prostate. He was cancer-free for 8 mos after that. This cancer that popped up had nothing to do with his previous cancer, but it's highly aggressive and rare. It's normally slow-growing and treatable. He has so many other medical conditions that it makes treatment very difficult. So, PLEASE, take all of those facts into consideration. You are doing SO great!!! We are praying for you to get rid of this cancer. Good, positive vibes only!! xo
