I am counting down the days (120) and hope I will have a lot of time for scrapping. And other things of course. But the scrapping!!!
I have been prepping for retirement, ie shopping š. The disorganized room is full, a lot of pictures. I have scrapped very few of my kids baby pics.
So, what does a retired nurse do?? SCRAP, Right???!!!

Congratulations! My first retirement hobby was going out to lunch with all my friends. I look forward to doing that again someday, when I feel safe dining in again.
And yes, I get more scrapbooking time, for sure.

Iām counting down right beside you. Only 7,969 more days until I retire and can be scrapbooking as much as I want!

I retired 2 years ago. I spent a bit of time concentrating on organizing and ended up with my stuff spread into more rooms than I started. I have not changed much of anything when it comes to scrapping. I go to crops when I can, continue to take and print more photos than I can control and find that in retirement I am very lazy generally.

I retired May of 2020 after 40 years of teaching. I also had been collecting stuff with every intention of scrapping a ton once I was retired. Well, a year later, I'm just getting into a scrapping groove. Adjusting to retirement was different than I thought it was going to be! I was convinced retirement was going to be like one long summer vacation and for some reasons I haven't quite figured out yet, retirement is nothing like summer vacation! In my defense, in the past year we also moved out of state and built and moved into a new house. Basically, changed every single thing in our lives. Guess that explains some of it! But I am happy to be picking up scrapping and some other hobbies now. I keep reminding myself that I've got lots of time to get used to things (I hope!). It all doesn't need to be done right now.

Congratulations on your upcoming retirement! I retired 7 months ago and it has been a dream come true. Initially, I felt like I have to keep busy all of the time and filled up my days with big projects like painting rooms. A couple of months ago, I met a work friend for lunch who retired a year before me. Her advice to me was to take it easy, enjoy things, put those projects off to give yourself time to relax, rest and become accustomed to being retired. She was so right! These days are mine now to spend as I see fit. This new perspective has really helped me with my mojo. I can hang out in my scrap loft and create all day if I choose. Last week I made three layouts in a day and a half which is unheard of for me. This is the best part of life. Relax and enjoy it! You have EARNED it!

How exciting on your retirement! I retired early from teaching (two days after I turned 50). We don't have a great track record for long lives in my family and I didn't want to be working up until I got too old to enjoy things. When I was working, I was so organized. My room and supplies were always tidy and well used. After I retired, I found I tend to go in spurts with cropping. I go into my room almost every day and do something, but it isn't always working on pages. I am just the opposite of most people, I guess. When my time is more limited, I get so much more done. ETA: I just found a great set of medical dies. I have a LO of my son's fiancee getting her white coat for PA school. So of course I had to get dies to commemorate the occasion. She's my favorite person to sit next to when we go out for a meal because she has great stories of things that happen in the hospital/Emergicare.

Yeah, it's the easy life ... until people catch on to the fact you have TIME! Instead of earning an income, you have time to ferry people around, do errands, and solve a myriad of crisis'. The more kids you have, the less time you have, and if your spouse is still working, even less time. Various organizations would also like a few minutes too. On the other hand, everyday is a Saturday.

Of course a retired nurse scraps!!! The last 18 months have been hard for everyone, especially what nurses have been through! I delayed sending my son to school last year because of health issues and covid. This year, his first week was half days, then no school on Labor Day. I understand needing a long deserved break.
Anyway, I ordered about six months worth of photos from 2014-2015 that I somehow over looked. It was when my pre-teen child still had his chubby cheeks. I will probably be scrapping those ASAP when they come rather than current photos.
