Like Pinocchio’s nose, every time trump tells “the lie” the number of uncounted/ missing ballots keeps going higher. He has to make sure the number of missing/uncounted ballots is high enough that when added to the number of votes he did receive it would total more then what President Biden received, with some to spare. Of course there are no facts to back any of his rigged/stolen/uncounted ballot rants. But it seems we are becoming the country that “don’t need no stinking facts” to believe something. From the Washington Post.. linkFrom the article. “Trump and the next big, bogus stolen-election claim”By Aaron Blake Senior reporter Today at 11:13 a.m. EDT Last week, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) seemed to spill the beans. He said on tape that he had very recently spoken with former president Donald Trump and that Trump would launch a 2024 presidential campaign — potentially imminently. The reporter who scooped it was also told that Trump would soon travel to Iowa, which would of course be an attractive place for such an announcement. On Tuesday, Trump’s political operation confirmed that Trump would indeed travel there for a lengthy rally on Oct. 9. Just two minutes later, it served notice that the potential next chapter in Trump’s political life will look a lot like the last one — and reinforced that the lessons of Jan. 6 have apparently not been internalized by it or the former president. In a fundraising email, Trump cited a claim that 15 million mail ballots went “unaccounted for” in the 2020 campaign. “ This is a very sad day for the more than 75 MILLION Americans who voted for me, and the 15 MILLION Americans whose ballots were not counted,” the email stated. “We. Cannot. Trust. Mail. In. Ballots.”Fifteen million ballots “not counted” would be a pretty stunning number — if only it weren’t wholly misleading. Just like many of the claims that Trump promoted in the lead-up to Jan. 6 and that motivated the Capitol rioters, this one falls apart rather quickly with even the most basic scrutiny. (Not to mention that Trump did not receive “more than 75 million” votes. His popular vote total was 74.2 million, well short of Joe Biden’s 81.2 million.)”

OMG. They are already ramping up. Blaming Biden for Covid is something I’m hearing a lot. Um, excuse me? The Covid epidemic falls squarely on the shoulders of unvaccinated adults and GOP governors.
The other thing that I’m noticing is that they constantly imply that they represent the majority of people. I think that some of them actually believe it. There’s a lot of “We the people” phrasing in that crowd.
Many of them imply that most Dems don’t work. This is said a lot. *They* are the taxpayers. Yeah, I only worked for 39 years. I’m such a slacker!
This stuff is very effective, believe it or not.

I’m dubious, esp. if lots of kids get sick this fall.

If Sean says it, so does Laura, and so on.

Out of all the things I despise about Trump, what I hate the most is the way he singlehandedly made people not believe in the integrity of our elections. He was screaming about a rigged election when Cruz won the Iowa caucus in 2016. And just days after taking office, started ranting about how the 2020 election would be "the most rigged election in history." With absolutely NO proof, his followers now think our election system is rigged. Just this one thing alone has done so much damage to our democracy, and I fear the ramifications will be with us for a very long time.

I guess it’s easier to cheat then to make people want to vote for your vision of the country.

Yes this thread is old but rather then start a new one about the same subject I’ll keep this one.
It seems the Republicans have a plan…
As a voter I’m angry it has been allowed to get to this level. But here we are.

The irony of this is all voter fraud that has been found was done by Republicans.

Oh, come on now! Everybody *knows* the elections are only rigged if a Democrat wins! Otherwise it’s all hunky dory. 🙄

Meanwhile the GOP decided that ALL the votes are important in the still ongoing drama of the Pennsylvania GOP Senate primary. If it were a presidential race, they'd be pitching a fit about ballots if things weren't leaning their way.
