was on TV tonight for some guy running on the Republican ticket for Burr's senate seat. Burr is retiring.
The ad featured Trump several times giving his endorsement. I haven't bothered to learn this guy's name yet as I'm sure I'll see the add hundreds more times and I'm a registered Democrat. I don't have to worry about him until the general election.
We have the worst Democratic candidates for Senate so I'm not that hopeful for 2024. I even voted for Burr in 2016 because the democrat was such a poor choice.

Fellow Democratic North Carolinian here...Do you mean 2022?
Honestly, I'm shocked that you think Jeff Jackson is a poor Democratic candidate. But I will say, we've only been in NC 7 years and understanding what motivates most NC voters escapes my understanding based on election results since we've moved here. I maintain my faith in humanity by blaming it on the extreme gerrymandering, LOL.
And thank you for the warning that the TV ads are starting. They are the worst!!

Thank you. Still seems early to me. I don't know Jeff Jackson or anyone who is running yet on the Democratic ticket for the next election. I'm just going by our past history. We elected John Edwards and look how he turned out. I thought Cal Cunningham was a good candidate until we found out a month before the election that he had been having an affair which he denied and then finally admitted to. For some reason we can't seem to attract good candidates to the senate race on either side.

For some reason we can't seem to attract good candidates to the senate race on either side. You might want to give Jeff a look. He's been serving in the NC Senate, is a vet, and is not progressive enough for a Bernie/Liz Warren voter like me (haha!), but I will have no problem casting my vote for him. He is super level headed and has earned my respect. He represents a Charlotte district--We've lived in the Charlotte metro area since coming to NC (currently in Salisbury) and his updates during the early days of Covid were so helpful. Welp, I think I just became one of his campaign volunteers inadvertently. Cal Cunningham's race was the first US Senate race I've voted in in NC and I was soooo mad at him when that came out. We had moved here a few months before the election that Tillis ended up winning, but I didn't know enough about who was running to feel comfortable voting. Instead I maintained my Kentucky residency long enough that I could go back and vote against Mitch McConnell. Obviously, it was for naught, but I still fought the good fight.
