"Former President George W. Bush compared domestic and foreign extremists Saturday, seeming to liken the insurrectionists who attacked the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 to the 9/11 hijackers and calling on Americans to confront the growing threats from both groups. “There is little cultural overlap between violent extremists abroad and violent extremists at home,” Bush said during a speech at the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. “ But in their disdain for pluralism, in their disregard for human life, in their determination to defile national symbols, they are children of the same foul spirit.”" www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2021/09/11/bush-calls-americans-confront-domestic-and-foreign-terrorists/8299807002/Amen, George. They are both adherents to the you-must-live-according-to-OUR-HOLY-BOOK ideologies. Pluralism, equality and reason are their common enemies.

I love that line; it fits DeSantis, Abbott, and their supporters. It will be interesting to see if the conservative marches/demonstrations next weekend are peaceful I’ll hope for the best. 🤞🏻

I didn't like him as president, but I have grown to like him over the years. He was dignified and gracious starting with Obama.
I never doubted he was trying to do what was best for our country even if I didn't agree with him or he faltered.
Each year I like him and agree with him more.

George W. is exactly what a former president should be. We don't hear from him very often, but he speaks up when it's important.
And Hillary was exactly right when she called trump supporters deplorable.

No lies detected. His nephew should take some notes.

His nephew should take some notes. If you mean the nephew w/his head up TFG's ass, that's a lost cause. Once you enter the cult, you don't come back out.

Up until Trump, I never paid a lot of attention to politics. I think everyone who was in office was fundamentally a decent person, and I slept better knowing the grownups were in charge. I didn't love GWB (he struck me sort of clueless) but he never scared me. Now, I have so much more respect for him and love the "foul spirit" quote. He's not wrong.

he got us in terrible messes. I respect the way he has done being a former president...I don't respect him much as a person.
