We haven’t eaten inside since the pandemic started. I let both of my kids eat inside once in the last month for birthday parties. They also have been eating inside at school for two years. We do have a vaccine mandate. You must be double vaxxed to eat inside or on a patio. I feel like dh and I haven’t crossed that bridge. Our weather has turned and we want to have lunch out but it’s pouring rain today and the chill has set in. How do we comfortably make that change to eating inside. I feel like we have this mental block.
We have flown and done other indoor activities while in a mask. How do we mentally move on.
ETA: our province has an 85% double vaxxed rate and our health authority is closer to 95/96%. Other areas of our province have 2-3 hundred cases per day. We have 50-70 cases per day in our health authority. We have 5 million people in our province.

I’ve been eating inside restaurants since May 1, 2020.
No vax mandates for anything here.
I don’t really think about Covid on a daily basis anymore.

Nope. There is no "comfortably moving on". We are in a pandemic, still and for the foreseeable future. I'm not willing to risk my health, lose 2 weeks of work and my kids 2 weeks of school, to eat in a restaurant.
If you want to eat inside, then my only suggestion would be to start during off hours when places are less busy. It will probably get easier from there.

Yes. Proof of vax is required at restaurants in Seattle. Given a choice I still dine outdoors when possible, but yes, I’ve been dining inside for a couple of months now. ETA: we’re also at 80%+ fully vaxxed age 12 and up in Seattle.

I use hand sanitizer when I leave a store. I wash my hands when I get home, first thing. But this is what I did before Covid. A really bad case of influenza one year, several years ago, changed how I looked at hand washing. But life is normal here now.

We've eaten inside restaurants for the last 6 months or so. BUT - we definitely limit ourselves. I think last month we ate out twice - mostly because we were out of town and we needed to eat. We found many of our favorite places now have limited hours and staff.
We look for places that are following distancing rules and where the servers are masked. More often than not we will get take out or drive thru.
I've noticed that quality of food and service has decreased and eating out is no longer a treat. It's just too stressful, the experience is not as pleasant as in the past and hasn't been worth the amount of money it has cost.

We are both vaccinated and DH has had his booster, but we are not eating in restaurants yet. There is no requirement anywhere to be vaccinated in this area. To me, dining out is supposed to be a relaxing enjoyable experience and being around unmasked people of unknown vaccination status is not either of those things.
That being said, on Saturday DH attended a funeral and then went out to eat with approximately 16 members of his family from 3 different states and everybody was unmasked the entire day so apparently my feelings on the matter aren't as important as fitting in with the gang.

Yes. Once we were a few weeks past our full vaccination we started eating in restaurants. We do however usually eat at off times even in normal times so often we go when restaurants are not very crowded and we a few tables away from people. We hate crowds, pandemic or not. However sometimes places are more crowded and we just don't worry about it too much at this point. We've vaxxed, we take vitamins are moderately healthy people (I am overweight). Dh works outside much of the time as a general contractor and everyone in my office is vaxxed and we have to wear masks. Overall we are pretty careful. I think at this point, we're doing as much as we can while still getting out a bit and trying to get back to "normal".

We have been when they are open - they have been shut off and on since March 2020. We have had to show we have been double vaxed for a couple of months now. Our local pub is still overly careful - they have a set of servers who clear and a set of servers that bring your meal and they are still using a paper menu or a QR code one.
I would be far less worried about eating in a restaurant than flying but we all have our own thresholds.

I was just talking to my daughter this morning saying I do what I have always done--hand sanitize, wash my hands when I get home, don't touch my face and mouth, etc. I have done that for YEARS as well as wiping off the grocery cart handle (though now they have the wipes put away so that annoys me). Got my flu shot as usual, got my COVID shots in March, etc. Life has been normal here too.

Yes, pretty much since they resumed indoor dining in NYS/NYC so Fall of 2020.

I am in a restaurant right now. Admittedly, I am in Dubai, which has an over 90% vax rate, and we are at World Expo, where we - and everyone else - had to show a vax certificate or a negative PCR just to get onto the grounds. Even back home, we need a vax certificate or negative test to eat in, but our vaccination numbers aren’t as good as here and our Covid numbers are climbing again, so I think we’ll be eating at home once we go back home.

I've been eating inside restaurants for as long as they've been allowed to be open. *shrug*
How is it that you've been posting about your travel, flights, school events, etc etc etc but are hung up on eating in a restaurant? Seems you've already mentally moved on. Just go.

Yes, since June 2020. There are no indoor vax mandates where I live. I was way more skeeved out when I flew in August this Summer (those seats are SO tight!) than I ever have been about eating in a restaurant.

We do go to restaurants in MN and WI. We live in a smaller suburb and there are no requirements to show vax cards (yet). Our lake place in WI is in a pretty remote area and it's pretty rare to see anyone wearing a mask anywhere. I continue to be diligent with hand washing and hand sanitizer. I will say that we don't eat out nearly as much as we used to. We do get takeout a lot more now.

Since being vaccinated, we have been living our lives as normally. No unvaccinated people in my family that I have to worry about. I’ve been traveling and going to concerts and shows also.
I’ll do a test before meeting with my elderly aunts and uncles next week since I got back from NYC this week.

Yes. We're fully vaxxed and following all the guidelines, in an area with good vaccination rates, mask requirements, etc.

We mostly sit outdoors at restaurants, but we sit inside sometimes if it's not crowded. I'm not too worried about someone sitting 12 feet away from me.

Yes but, I don't because there is nowhere to eat gluten free in my small town. I don't go to city much and the place I love to eat at has just been doing take out so I do that. When we've travelled, I've eaten out. I haven't been on a plane, that would give me more pause than a restaurant.

I always wiped the carts before Covid. We eat at some restaurants. There’s a local group that purchased these industrial air filters for all their restaurants. We go to one of those usually. But we also went there a lot pre-Covid. I will say I don’t like crowds. If the grocery parking lot is full I keep driving. We still have a mask mandate. Not sure what our vax rate is currently.

We have not eaten inside a restaurant yet. We don't find that we're missing it that badly yet. And we still have an unvaccinated child in our home. I am missing the movies, though, but again, with one person unvaccinated, I'm willing to keep missing them for awhile longer.

Yes, we need to show proof of vax to eat indoors. There are a lot of plexiglass partitions still up on restaurants and the restaurants I go to are still trying to keep tables as far apart as possible. I have been eating indoors since I got my vax. The rate is low in my city.

I've been traveling for work extensively since last July. I first was just eating outdoors when I started back, but yes, I've been eating in restaurants for more than a year at this point. When work takes you to events with 50,000+ people on a regular basis you get used to it pretty quickly.

This summer I ate out twice. But its facemasks unless seated at your table. And they have had windows and doors open and sanitiser when arriving and preorder and pay by app. As the weather gets colder I have leas desire to sit inside and eat.
