Are they requiring proof of vaccination for 12 and up? Disneyland in CA is not. No vax requirements, no distancing, mask wearing required inside buildings. We choose to wear masks in dense crowds also. DL is in Orange County, not LA County so the rules are different. OC is much more red/magenta than LA unfortunately.

We have not, BUT, it would be WDW for us, not DL. We had a trip planned for late summer 2020, but have since postponed it 2 more times. It's now on the books for late summer of next year. For us, personally, we didn't want to be paying more than ever to have what we would consider to be a reduced experience. As a native Floridian, do not go in the summer. It is super hot and super crowded. You could not pay me enough to go to Disney in the summertime.

It's actually when we always go---the very bitter end of August/very beginning of September, which is one of the lower crowd times since many, many schools have just restarted at that point. "Lower" being a relative term, of course, when it comes to Disney, LOL! It's still brutal weather, but we come from a pretty darn humid location ourselves, so it's not as much of a shock to our systems as it may be to others, and we take our WDW trips nice & slow. We're not the run around with a spreadsheet, cram in as many rides as possible or die type of Disney-goers. We take breaks, both in and out of the parks and go at a relaxed pace, so its do-able for us. I'd love to go in January instead, but we have kids in school so it just doesn't work for us.

We were in Disneyland for a week at the beginning of September. Masks were mandated inside (although some people felt they didn't need to follow the rules when Disney wasn't watching them). We wore masks outside if we were in a big crowd and took them off if the area was sparsely populated. Temps were in the upper 90s when we were there, so major discomfort wearing a mask. We are both vaccinated and laid low for a couple of weeks upon returning home (we can both work from home). Used lots of hand sanitizer, but we've always done that due to the ick factor of everyone touching everything.
We'll be in Disney World with the whole fam damnly the week before and through holiday break. Again, everyone is vaccinated. We'll be using Genie and Lightning Lane to avoid standing in large groups of people. DH will be back at Disneyland the second week of January.
Long story long, I'm not worried. We now have booster shots (kicked my booty!) We'll probably wear masks indoors in FL, even though it appears to not be required.
Park Hopper is still worth it, to me. The only change is that you can't head to the other park until 2pm.
