I do not personally know this family but they are friends of a very dear friend of mine. I am quoting her request below:
Maya Grace is a foster child who almost died from lack of care. The Stancils fostered her for over a year and fell in love with her and officially adopted her.
She became a heart transplant recipient at 8 months old, and now that heart is diseased and failing.
She is going into her third month as an inpatient at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital.
Her doctors and nurses love her and know her well.
Maya Grace will be 7 on December 2nd. She loves getting cards in the mail. I am asking everyone who can to send her a birthday card.
