To me, one of the most telling statements in the whole piece came toward the end once the parents were being sentenced (or maybe had been sentenced). The woman, whom I refuse to refer to as a mother, was crying and said, "I hope my children don't become too sad or depressed because they miss me." WHAT??? Because that would be so much worse than having them be sad and depressed because they're starving, beaten, neglected and otherwise abused??? Was one of the most narcissistic statements I've ever heard in my life.
That being said, I also saw some inconsistencies within the story that raised my eyebrows, but overall, I still believe the children. Appalling!

Jordan recorded the song/video, I am not sure she posted it anywhere. My phone has a icon to record a video. Who knows how long it took her to actually get it done?
Over the years none of the kids said anything to anyone while they were out. The boy in college classes was picked up and dropped off by the woman, I think she waited right outside. Could he have been told that the little kids would be punished if he talked?
Elizabeth Smart was out and said nothing. Jaycee Dugar's daughters were out and said nothing. None of us has any idea what they could have been threatened with.

I believe everything the kids say happened to them. But some stuff makes me scratch my head. How did Jordan know what social media was, but not what a sidewalk was? She could post videos of herself singing but not call 911? Also, the Vegas thing was actually two different videos from two different occasions. Watch the wife’s hair change color and length and Elvis’ jacket change colors. We know from when the case first broke that those freaks did the Vegas thing more than once. Why did 20/20 misrepresent it as one video/event? The manipulation of that made me suspicious of 20/20, not the kids. Like why was that manipulation necessary? I haven't seen it yet but we have it saved. After reading some of the inconsistencies, I will pay attention to these things. So sad!

She is an editor for 20/20 and does Diane Sawyer’s shows sometimes. I don’t know if she worked on this or not (didn’t check the credits and she didn’t post about which she often does for big stories). Keep in mind they have a limited time to tell the story and not every detail may make the final cut (such as they went to Vegas numerous times). While I understand the reasons to be suspicious of manipulation, I tend to doubt that was the reasoning here.
