If it were my DH I’d take him at face value and not give it another thought. If I had reason to question his intentions I’d probably ask him directly. If I thought he was cheating on me I’d get my ducks in a row and confront him.

Something very similar happened to me 15 years ago. I was meeting up for drinks with my then DH and his male colleague, they were coming straight from work. They turned up with a young female colleague who I had never met before. She spent the evening undermining everything I said! Afterwards my DH asked me what I thought of her. To cut a long story short, my ex DH is now married to the female colleague and has 2 children! Yikes! She was pretty ballsy!

I knew my ex MIL since I was 5, I was very close to her even after the divorce. I’m still close to my ex DH’s whole family. The new wife was furious that I attended my ex MIL’s funeral 3 years ago! Apparently she was being a real bitch about me to the family. I don’t think my ex DH has a peaceful life
