A question for any Peas still using a Cameo 3, which version of the software are you using? Hubby is planning on wiping computer and reloading everything. My latest version was an upgrade to 3.6.57 DE. That is no longer available on the Silhouette store. Which version would be the best to upgrade to and not have issues running the machine? I am not very computer savvy so any help would be appreciated.

3.3.638 - so I'm way behind you. Can you let us know how it goes? I am worried about when I have to upgrade my machine that the newer versions of Studio won't run my machine and/or I won't know how to use them.
ETA: Oops - sorry. I have a Cameo 2.

I'm using the current version, 4.4.895 on a Cameo 3. I have the business edition of the software. I don't recall any difficulties adjusting to the new layout. It feels similar to me, but I come from a background of using Adobe Illustrator which has a lot of similarities in the toolbar, especially in earlier versions of the Silhouette software. YMMV.

Obviously, before wiping your computer, save any and all Silhouette files in your library, especially those files you have created or downloaded/imported from other sites. You should be able to export them. I updated once without thinking, and was really, really upset because I lost files. I had backed up most of them previously, but not all. I definitely lost some. The Silhouette Cloud storage guarantees only your Silhouette purchased files. Even Silhouette files that you have adapted may not be saved. For example, I used print and Cut files purchased from Silhouette to create a box card of my own design. Those files were backed up on my computer, fortunately, because they failed to download from the Silhouette Cloud storage. I’m currently using version 4.4.247, business version, although I noticed today that it doesn’t even show up in the software downloads. Everything is either a newer or older version. I’m probably going to upgrade to a newer version soon, possibly today. Like Ryann , I have had some experience with Adobe Illustrator. I tend to avoid upgrading till new updates have had time to get the “bugs” resolved, which is why I haven’t upgraded to the latest version yet. I also tend to wait to upgrade until they have features that I think I will need or use. I like the version I have. I’ve had it for awhile, but after looking at some of the newer features, I may finally update. The toolbar changes did take some getting used to, but I learned them relatively quickly. There are tutorials for using the software, both through Silhouette, and through the Silhouette School, if you need. The latter group’s tutorials can often be found for free, but I think they also have an option to buy all of their tutorials as a download. I’m cheap. If I need a refresher or am learning a tool that I haven’t used before, I look up the free tutorials.

Thank you for the information. I just wasn’t finding the answer online, but Peas always know.
