Thinking ahead to 2022 - plans and goals

I’m due for a big clean out and organization session. That’s coming in January. Included in this goal is sending photos off to Legacy box to get them put on a usb drive.

On the actual scrapbook side of things, I would like to get my 2020 Jamaica album done.

I will do my PL monthly, like always. I also think I still have 2014 PL to finish. It was the year my mom got sick and it’s important to me to go back and document all that. I have all the stuff set aside so I just need to do it.

I’m really in a ‘use it up’ mindset right now. So I really want to take advantage of that.

The (very tiny) silver lining of a worldwide pandemic is that there's not much going on during it & you also have extra time to scrap during it. Scrapping is what kept me from losing it with my working from home & the kids schooling from home so I'm 100% caught up through 2018 with large chunks of 2019 and 2020 complete. Copies of my photos are organized in a "To Be Scrapped" folder on my EHD with subfolders by theme/subject so I can quickly scroll through & see what I'd like to play with without accidentally making duplicate pages so 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 will all be scrapped eventually.

I don't scrap chronologically but my albums are chronological and since I'm digital, I wait for the quarterly-ish unlimited pages sales at Shutterfly before I print. Each year is usually 2 volumes at 100ish pages each.

I have our Florida mini-vacation album to finish and am debating on pulling together an album of all the pages I've made about my nephew since he will be graduating from HS in June. My mom has dozens of albums about him but they are paper & heavy & I'm not sure she's willing to give them up just yet so I thought a single digital album that would be very easy to take with him might be a good idea? We'll see. Surprisingly, I've really kept on top of my Countdown to Christmas album this year and have 10 days off work later this month so I might actually get it done before 2022. I'm also toying with the idea of doing a Week in the Life-esque photo project this spring now that we've settled into the new house & the new routine and before my boyfriend moves in later next year. I don't make a WITL album but I enjoy the photo-taking aspect of the project and use those photos to tell stories within the family album that I otherwise wouldn't think to tell.

I choose a word each year but don't create an OLW album. I've managed to talk my BF into doing #New52 with me next year as part of my 2022 OLW "exult" but I will be mostly documenting it via social media with maybe a few select/really important pages in the family album + a round-up of all 52 new things I tried at the end of the year.

Otherwise, I will just be continuing with what I usually do: Project Life from January - November, regular pages, and a 2022 Countdown to Christmas album.

My goal is to use what I have and print off papers for traveler notebooks all yearn I even bought a5 paper and printed planner pages. I’m going to keep my planner minimal this year.

I’m completely overwhelmed with stuff and pictures. My husband and I have had some issues and that took so much of my joy away from scrapping. I mainly do it to remember good times and lately there’s just nothing I care to remember. My daughter has cut me off again and I have a closet full of gifts my grandson won’t get. I’m basically keeping my head above the water line for my 17 yo son.
I’ve been doing my daily advent page on my December album and I have 3 christmases worth of stamps to use! So I think I can manage with what I have in my stash.

For 2022, I plan to continue on with my PL monthly spreads plus adding in any layouts with special photos from the month. I have tons of stash, but I have tried being a frozen pea before and failed miserably, so I have set a goal of using/getting rid of two sheets of paper for every piece that I buy. Along this line, I also have a goal of trying to make my own kits to mimic paper lines that I want, or just buying the most "must have" pieces and then pulling from my stash to fill in gaps. I want to break away from only using collections in an effort to get some old stash into the rotation.

Before the end of this year I have a few days off work, so I really want to make an effort to get my scrap space set up. This involves moving a desk upstairs into a corner of our loft and creating a bit of a space for myself.

I have a huge trip from 2016 that I am working on documenting. It is a project I am truly enjoying working on, so it isn't so much pressure to "get it done", but I would like to get it organized and my journaling all printed. Initially I was scrapping it chronologically, but now I have just been doing random layouts so it definitely needs a reset and some planning to fill in gaps.

ETA: Hugs to you julie5...I went through a rough patch this year and know how it can take the joy from scrapping. I hope that there are brighter times ahead for you.

my first goal is the same yearly goal----purge and streamline.

as far as projects, i need to work with a bit more urgency and not at the super casual pace i am currently at.  

For 2022 I really want to embrace being frozen. I've done a lot of shopping throughout the pandemic and I need to do better at using what I have instead of being distracted by all the shiny new things!

I've been putting away stuff that was pulled together for craft shows (all done for 2021!) and in doing so I'm re-organizing in an effort to set myself up for success in the new year.

I put together a container that includes any half-finished projects (*cough* SCT Crop & Create classes *cough*) and products I have set aside for specific photos. I pulled out my label maker and gave it a "Projects in Progress" label. I think that will help me stay focused and hopefully finish some things before the next round of Crop & Create online events roll out in the spring. Eep!

I would like to concentrate on stash busting in 2022. I have too much if I'm honest with myself. Too, too much! We've got a big move coming up in 2023 and I know it will be easier if I'm able to pare down some.

The second half of 2021 I did very little scrapbooking, so I would like to pick that back up in 2022 as I'm really missing it. I also acquired an embarrassing number of Simple Stories flip books on clearance so I want to start working my way though those as they are fairly quick and fun to make.

We plan to move in 2022 and I'll have a dedicated space. I want to organize all my Iris cases better in the new space. Right now I have them in 2 different areas of the house.

I want to purge the old bits of stuff I haven't used in years. I may get a start on that after the holidays.

I would like to head into the freezer, or at the very least the fridge, for everything except essentials. I would like to focus on my stash and finish 2021. I have lots and lots of photos left.

I built up my stash in 2020/2021 in a way that I'm really happy with. That's one thing that really worked for me. I've been scrapping regularly, too, during the pandemic.
A couple of goals for 2022 are to get caught up on my 2020 pictures and finish up my Disney album. I planned the album ahead and knew it was going to be my biggest Disney album yet. I bought all my supplies, mostly EP Disney themed collections, and then hated all the embellishments when I got them which kind of stalled my progress. They're all quite busy to me and kind of thin and cheap feeling. This album is really driving me crazy and has been for months now. I've got all the papers and pictures adhered. I've got all but 7 titles done. When I get those titles done I'm going to cut embellishments on my Cameo to have some less busy supplies to work with.
So...finish the titles, cut embellishments, embellish the layouts, and add journaling. I want it done. I look forward to the time when I won't complain about this album to you all anymore.
After that I'd like to work on some layouts for another vacation album. It surely won't be as big as the Disney album. I have a collection picked out and it sound a heck of a lot more fun than the Disney album.
Lastly, I want to have more scrappy days! I need more scheduled scrappy time.

I'm currently working on a page for 2010.

I added quite a bit to my stash the past two years, and I'm happy with where it is now. I hesitate to say I will be frozen, but I do want to limit the amount I'm bringing in for 2022 and do more using what I have.

I have several UFO's I would like to move off my list. School books for my adult kids, and my 2020 album for starters. I would also like to stay more current in 2022 than I have in the past. Hard to do since I'm such a slow scrapper, but I would like to try lol. I also want to finish some of the classes I bought. I like the idea of X number of layouts before I buy again, so if there is a thread this year I will really commit to that.

Yep, I set that up-it was a lot of fun! I think I will pass the baton, feel free to set it up and I will play along as I am able. I am hopeful I can participate, but it will likely take me 3x as long!
