On the "What's For Dinner?" thread we had a little discussion about the fact that many people love the feeling over opening paper wrapped gifts I'm too lazy to do that and so I use gift bags and tissue paper What do you wrap your gifts in? What about a third option? (One Christmas, my really eccentric uncle wrapped his gifts in wallpaper! Seriously! )

Mostly I use wrapping paper. We use gift bags for bottles of wine, as wrapping them is too hard.

For Christmas gifts I try really hard to wrap with paper as much as possible. I’m a gift bag person for every other gift giving occasion.

I wrap, but no bows or ribbons as my cat loves to eat them and then that sucks in vet visit costs. If it gets too much, then it all just will get shoved in gift bags.

I tried to go majority gift bags a few years ago but it was really difficult to “stack” the gifts under the tree so have gone back to wrapping. Looks much neater 😉

If it's a large or oddly shaped gift, that's why we have gift bags. If I can fit it in a box nicely, it's getting wrapped. But I do have some really nice gift boxes that I reuse every year and some big fabric 'Santa' sacks that we also reuse every year.
I've been seeing a bit of a trend in wrapping gifts in fabric or having sets of fabric bags for gifts and I may look into that...next Christmas. I have to survive through this one first.

I use both. Bags for the adults and older kids and wrapping for the little ones. I absolutely hate to wrap gifts. Hate it!!

Most gifts are wrapped--easier to place and stack under the tree. I usually use a gift bag for the gifts I get my sisters (same thing for each) because it's usually more than one thing and a bag is easier.

90% wrapped and tied with ribbon from my stash. The other 10% are those decorated boxes from Joann's. DH uses those because he doesn't like to wrap. Toss the present in, add some tissue and he's done. If I use one of those boxes, the gift is wrapped first, then placed inside the box.

I wrap in paper, no ribbon or bows due to cats. I used to use a few gift bags, but one of our current cats is obsessed with getting in bags, so that's a no go now. As it is, they love chewing and pawing at the wrapping paper. I only have maybe 10 presents to wrap, so it isn't much trouble.

I love to wrap presents, so it is wrapping paper for me. I like to use ribbon and make fancy bows. I don’t have as many gifts to wrap anymore though. When the boys were young, they got no ribbon on their gifts from “Santa”. 😆

I wrap 99% of my gifts in paper. I have a huge stash of shoe boxes in every size imaginable that I continually reuse year after year to make the task easier for soft or oddly shaped gifts. I’m good at it too. I like the thick, double sided paper Costco sells because it’s so much easier to work with than the cheap, thin paper most places sell. I think a lot of people get frustrated by wrapping with paper because they are trying to wrap with low quality wrapping paper and that makes the task infinitely harder.
Having said that though, I think when my current stash of paper runs out I might switch to reusable cloth drawstring bags for a good percentage of our family gifts. I can buy the fabric when it goes on clearance for cheap and easily sew up the bags myself so the cost would be minimal. The problem is those Costco rolls of wrap are huge and take years for us to go through. Case in point, I used the same roll of Santa wrap for all of our Santa presents from the time my kid was born until last year and she’s 11 now, so yeah.

I love wrapped gifts under the tree This year we finally decorated the living room/dining room area of the house. I used the help of a designer to guide me on what to put where and pieces to buy. We got some antique pieces painted, and got the walls all painted as well. So for the first time ever, I have co-ordinated the tree with the room lol. And so when I found paper at Costco that matched the look of the room? You bet your bippy I was all over that and got it to wrap all my gifts! (my kids think I'm nuts)

Mostly paper (even though I hate the task) with some bags for awkward shapes or ones I'm doing on someone else's behalf, like for my DD from my MIL.

A combination of both. If it’s a soft item, like clothing, I’ll usually throw it in a gift bag. Unless I have some shirt boxes on hand, which I don’t this year. If it’s something that can be easily wrapped with paper, then that’s what I do. I like the look of wrapped presents under the tree.

Wrapping gifts is one of my favorite things to do. Pretty paper and ribbon and bows - swoon Sadly I have no one to gift except my ds and dil and they live far away and are too hard to buy for so they get a check.

I use paper simply because that's what my kids enjoy opening, and that is the whole point of this merry, merry, merry insanity!😁
I HATE wrapping gifts.
I admittedly am terrible at it.
I consider it an act of love that I bestow upon the kids.

I really enjoy unwrapping my presents. So, I'm a wrapping paper gal. I have always been horrible at wrapping. This year I'm pulling up youtube and I will make a concerted effort to wrap beautifully. (Crosses fingers!)

99.9999999999999999% of the time I wrap with paper, use bows and minimal ribbon.
This year my 3 niece's gifts are in gift bags. It hurt my heart to do that. But there are 2 gift cards (in holders I made) and 1 small jewelry box I didn't want lost so it is in a bag.
I also have 1 of my DD's gifts in a bag. She asked for the baby sea turtles from World Wildlife Fund and it comes with a free reusable tote, so they are in that, and I added decorations to the outside. I was struggling to wrap the 3 baby turtles in their eggs that are hatching with the gift bag in paper. I didn't have a box that worked.

I don't mind wrapping. I usually put on a Christmas movie I've seen a million times and just go with it. I also like to unwrap gifts. There's something sensory that reads joy to me.

Oh and I wrap because my two ASD sensory teens love the input unwrapping gifts and my DD loves to collect the gift bows for art projects.

That is one of my DD layouts I always wrap to Christmas Vacation and 4 Christmases. I need movies I know by heart so I can concentrate on wrapping but still enjoy the sound of the movie.

I will use gift bags for awkward gifts but I like using wrapping paper. I use cheap paper too so no one feels bad about ripping and tossing it.

I enjoy wrapping with paper, it just makes a prettier package. For odd shaped or super small things I will use gift bags. There's usually a mixture under my tree.

I ❤️ ❤️ wrapping gifts and making and adding BIG pretty bows. But there is only DH and me, so not many to wrap. But, I also enjoyed unwrapping gifts, and DH does a good job of wrapping my presents. And sticking a bow on them.

If I have to mail the gift, it gets wrapped and put inside a box. On rare occasions, with an odd shaped item, I put it in the gift bag and put that in the box to be shipped. 95% of our gifts have to be mailed, so the majority of what I do is wrapped.

Although I do both, I think wrapping things is a giant waste of paper and time and I detest it. I only wrap DH's presents because he acts all hurt if I don't.
Of all the things he doesn't care about, he actually has an opinion on this, so I reluctantly go along with it. But really it annoys me.
