Black cats are my favorite. She's beautiful. She’s still so sweet. And smart. But damn she’s wild. I forgot what a pain in the ass kittens were. I just look at Gabs and remind her that she too was a pain. I’ve also developed allergies…to Libby, I’m certain. In reading, I do see that you can be allergic to one and not the other. I also saw that black cats carry more dander. I’ve begun using a wipe from Burt’s Bees every night and wiping her down. She hates when I do her head but doesn’t mind the rest. I’m hoping that helps.

That's really interesting. I've always been around cats and never had any problems but since getting Sushi I'm sneezing, my eyes are constantly itchy and I have a dry tickly throat. He loves getting right up in my face to give me kisses and it's adorable but the itchy eyes (even with antihistamines) are driving me nuts.

Love me a black cat. My house panther is Ursala. I am allergic to cats. I started allergy shots about 8 months and that has helped. So does keeping the house free of dust………..I’m not an expert in that!

Liberty is beautiful. She looks so much like my Willow.
I know a "mom" isn't supposed to have favorites among her "children" but my black kitty, who passed away several months ago, earned that favorite spot. She was so interactive and would chirp at me when I talked to her, as if trying her best to answer. I still miss her every day, especially when I walk by one of her favorite snoozing spots. When I slept, she had to be right by my head on part of my pillow, usually with her arm stretched out to touch me.
It's funny, I have her sister sibling that has taken up that same position next to my pillow when she can and it bugs my dog no end. The dog was never bothered by the black cat at all, but with the other female, he doesn't like her getting that close to me when I lay down. The cat will head toward her preferred spot and out of nowhere, the dog will dart in there and plop down, hogging all available snoozing area to himself. He never bites or barks at her, he just pushes his way in so that she can't have it. And really, on his own, he doesn't like sleeping up near my head like that. He prefers to lay on my lap in the blankets. As soon as the cat has chosen another spot and fallen asleep, the dog will slowly creep to his spot on my lap. Pet behavior is so interesting to me.
