I wish there was a way to keep better track of where I got the recommendation from. Often I will reserve a book at the library and by the time it’s available I’ve forgotten where I got the idea to read it from. You can keep track of this on goodreads. When you change a book to 'want to read', select edit for that particular book from your "my books" list, about 2/3rds of the way down the page is "Who recommended it to me". There is also a field for private notes, shown only to you Hope that makes sense. Let me know if it doesn't and I will clarify Seriously!! I was looking all over because I thought there had to be some place on Goodreads for it, but didn’t see it. I will definitely check!

Most of mine come from Instagram/Bookstagram. There is a very active community of readers and they post lots of reviews and upcoming reads posts. I have instagram, is bookstagram something to follow on instagram or is it separate? I would love to try it!
I have a separate Instagram account that I use for books but it's just part of regular Instagram. I started following some book accounts and favorite authors and it's grown from there. It's a lot of fun! I also enjoy buddy reads and book giveaways through the platform as well. We just had a group to read holiday romances and monthly thriller reads. My account is Daffodilbookshelf. Someone down thread mentioned jordys.book.club . He has a very large account with all kinds of recommendations. If you want to give me an idea of what books you like, I can suggest some accounts that you might want to follow for suggestions.

Anne Boegel (Modern Mrs Darcy blog and What Should I Read Next podcast) has a book called My Reading Life: A Book Journal. It has a place to write down your to be read list and put who recommended it and details as well as books you read. I get my reading recommendations from her podcast and also from watching the threads here. there are a few peas whose recommendations are usually spot on for me. We must have the same reading tastes! Love Modern Mrs Darcy and What Should I read next podcast! Her summer reading guide is fantastic.

I follow a Facebook account for a local bookstore. The Peas have recommended a lot of great reads. Google "books similar to ____________" and put in the name of a book you like. The bookstore websites will often have "people who bought this book also looked at/bought" books

I get recommendations from:
The weekly book thread, here on this message board.
The Library weekly emails, listing the synopsis for all the new books that week.
Reading the "people who ordered this book, also order that book" recommendations on the Barnes and Noble website. If I like a "new to me" Author, I will look up their other books on Barnes and Noble and read the synopsis, and possibly add them to my "to read" list.
I am signed up with several news websites and receive their "weekly book list or recommendations" emails.
Occasionally, someone I follow on instagram, will make a recommendation, and I will add it to my list.

My number one source for new books is a monthly email I get from the New York Times about all the new books coming out each month in every genre.
I also keep a list of books I want to read on my phone. I jot down recommendations from friends, recommendations from the Two Peas reading thread and recommendations from other sources.
My "to read" list is always getting longer and longer. I'm a worrier by nature, but I never worry that I'm going to run out of books I want to read before I die.

- Here (thanks, ladies!) - NYT Bestseller List - Goodreads* - Audible* *I like checking out new releases from both of these - IG sometimes - I have a couple of other sites that I randomly check
I didn't know about TikTok for books... I'm not sure if that's a bad or a good thing for me.

I find books from here ( my favorite and the most reliable), the website Fantastic Fiction (I can get lost on that sight for hours reading the synopsis of books. ) and Book List magazine which is distributed free at my public library. I am a book whore and my TBR list is miles long.

I check the new releases table at my local bookstore every Tuesday to see, well, what's new. I put what I plan to read on my Amazon wishlist, so Amazon also makes some suggestions to me. Occasionally, someone I know will recommend a book to me, but while I read a lot, I am meh on probably 75% of what I read, so people get discouraged about recommending things to me .

Mostly from a Facebook group called Bloom Where You are Planted. It’s created by Stephanie Howell. The ladies on there are super nice and there are lots of good recs, old and new books.
Also, booktok. Though most books I get there are either contemporary romance and a few thrillers.

Mostly from here and Goodreads. But I do catch myself going down a rabbit hole on amazon when looking for a specific book and the recommendations pop up.

I'm late to this thread for some reason. Anyway, I get book suggestions from the following:
Here on the weekly thread
From my local public library (they send emails with book suggestions for different genres). I use my local library regularly.
From facebook on some groups I have subscribed to including a recent very good group for readers who like historical fiction.
From goodreads.com-they have several lists that have books in them in all kinds of different genres.

I LOOOOOOVE Stephanie Howell from back in her scrapbook heyday. I used to follow her blog when it was her and her three little chicks. Then four. You get the idea. I just followed her on Instagram. So happy I ventured into this thread. I get all of my recs from the New York Times and The New Yorker. Also my favorite independent bookstores here. There are 3 main ones who release an employee list of favorites every month. ETA: links if you're interested. booksaremagic.net/www.greenlightbookstore.com/www.wordbookstores.com/
