Is he really a private citizen if his only source of income is as a member of the Royal Family?

Not going to lie, I’m surprised. I thought this wouldn’t happen until Charles became King

Do you think this indicates the degree of certainty the Royal Family has in the accusations?

Is he really a private citizen if his only source of income is as a member of the Royal Family? But a lot of the Royal Family's income and net worth is private; only a portion of it comes from public funds. If he is supported by those private funds/assets, then yeah, I think it's fair to call him a private citizen. No different from any other adult child of a wealthy family who is supported by generational wealth rather than work.

Do you think this indicates the degree of certainty the Royal Family has in the accusations? My opinion is he’s been denying everything behind the scenes and likely finally admitted to something so they know he’s lying and the Queen/Charles/William are furious.

Is he really a private citizen if his only source of income is as a member of the Royal Family? I took it more to mean he can’t make any legal defenses claiming any sort of immunity based on being a member of the royal family.

Would it also be to protect the royal assets in case there is some sort of settlement?
It sounds like they have been advised by legal counsel that things don't look good for him.

I haven’t followed the case closely. Is he being sued civilly, or is there a criminal component to this business? What if, for example, he were proven to have been implicated in Jeffrey Epstein’s underage girl trafficking? Is there any chance of him being sent to prison, under virtually any circumstances?

I don’t think he owns anything but the chalet in Switzerland? Isn’t Royal Lodge grace and favor? The house he and Sarah received when they married was sold long ago. He has his earned military retirement. All his other money comes from the Queen as I understand it. I don’t see how the court could try to get money from the royals as a family, it’s all either attached to the Crown or Prince Charles. None of it is Andrew’s.
Losing that HRH has got to be a massive blow to his ego. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy!

i wonder if the palace is going to do anything to detract from all this bad press? release some nice pics of William's family? announce another royal pregnancy? put out some rumor about Meghan?

I have no sympathy for him whatsoever.
I hope this gives his victim(s) some small sense of justice.
I am hoping against hope Prince Andrew will come clean and tell everything he knows. I'll bet there are some powerful men who are very nervous about this turn of events.

😨 That’s 1932 biggish, I’d think. Even then he was a born royal in direct succession who willingly gave up his title, in the end. So maybe having it removed in circumstances like this (even though he’s much further down down the succession line now) is bigger? Wow.

Do you think this indicates the degree of certainty the Royal Family has in the accusations? Well, given that this was the same "punishment" that H&M got for asking to step away from duties (vs. allegedly raping an under-age person), not sure I'd read too much into it.
