ETA AGAIN: as of 5:20 PT on 1/19 Binaxnow Covid tests are back in stock if you need them.
1/19 My order arrived today and I am super impressed, I ordered on Saturday. It is a relief to have some tests in the house! There was discussion on one of the Covid test threads about expiration date. My order contained 2 boxes and they both expire in late October.
I do want to add that I have been shopping at Walgreens for the last month after finding out the TP I’ve been using subscribe and save for about the last 4 years went up by 40% since my last order. I’m finding that Walgreens prices are the same, if not less on the things I’ve purchased there since then.

ETA: I just checked, they are now sold out. I’m a little surprised they lasted as long as they did. Cheers to some of us who were able to make a purchase.
Ready to ship. $24 for a box of 2 Binaxnow which is what I paid in person at my CVS a while back. Don’t forget, save your receipt because as of today your health insurance (no matter who it is with) will now reimburse you for up to 8 tests per month.

Not anymore. ☹️ eta: I take that back. It didn’t show up as in stock when I searched just for COVID test, but then did when I searched for BinaxNow. Thank you! www.walgreens.com/search/results.jsp?Ntt=BinaxnowJust click on the “add for shipping” button. If you click on the image itself, the page that comes up says that it is not available.

MichyM Thank you for the heads up. I also just ordered. My adult step-son who lives with us tested positive today (symptoms started yesterday), and I now have a sore throat. Ugh.

ETA here's one of the many articles in the media about it: www.nytimes.com/2022/01/14/upshot/free-rapid-covid-tests.htmlPer this article, I personally will save my receipt (and the boxes) for the time being while the insurance companies get up and running on this requirement. The White House announcement was made this past Monday, not near enough time to implement. I'll probably submit them in a month or two when things (hopefully) calm down a bit with this. "Uncertain of what the rules will be, Ms. Hogue is advising her clients to save not just receipts but also the boxes that the tests come in, because some plans may require the boxes as proof of purchase."

I wonder if teaching in elementary school counts as prolonged exposure in their equation? Yesterday, the IA in my classroom tells me about 3 hours into the day that her nose just started running nonstop and that she has a bad headache. I asked repeatedly if she wanted and/or needed to go home, but she refused. Oh yay. Hopefully, my KF94 helped keep me safe. And, who knows how many kids in the various classrooms I have subbed in this week actually were COVID positive.

I feel like you're annoyed with me. I just did a quick google and this came up: "Testing for COVID
TRICARE covers COVID-19 tests at no cost, when ordered by a TRICARE-authorized providerAn authorized provider is any individual, institution/organization, or supplier that is licensed by a state, accredited by national organization, or meets other standards of the medical community, and is certified to provide benefits under TRICARE. There are two types of TRICARE-authorized providers: Network and Non-Network. DS or a provider at a military hospital or clinic.
Don't show up at a hospital or clinic and ask to be tested without a medical order.
Your health care provider decides if you need a test based on your exposure risk, symptoms, and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention."So if I understand this correctly, you purchase the tests to have on hand and save the receipt. If you're symptomatic or have had exposure, you contact your physician/NP for an order for a couple of rapid tests a day or two apart (which is how the box of 2 is intended to be used). After which you submit your saved receipt for the tests. I am trying to be helpful here, and it seems straightforward to me. What am I missing?

Lol goodness no I’m annoyed at Tricare not you! 😃 Your summary sounds fairly logical, but the reality I’d guess is that with an actual provider referral Tricare users will still need to go to testing sites or a military treatment center and not be able to use at home tests. Here’s the handy dandy chart they have for guidance. www.tricare.mil/covid19testing#:~:text=Testing%20for%20COVID,tested%20without%20a%20medical%20order. Dang can’t get link to work Suffice to say it’s convoluted and unhelpful really. www.tricare.mil/covid19testing#:~:text=Testing%20for%20COVID,tested%20without%20a%20medical%20order

Thank you! I ordered a couple of boxes for my adult dd to keep on hand. My husband and I stocked up when we saw them at Sam’s before Christmas.
I ordered as soon as I saw your post, but just got back here to say thank you.
It’s so frustrating that it’s still so hard to find tests when testing is so essential to getting the pandemic under control.

I’m not holding out much hope that the site will be able to withstand the amount of traffic it’s going to get. Hopefully the techie gods will prove me wrong! 🤞🏻 “A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush” 😏
