We are a little farther south than you but coastal, so we are expecting 8-12” and it has started. We’ve got candles and blankets ready — I hate the idea of a possible loss of power.

Cool enough that for the first time since the end of last year I haven't had to put the cooling on! It's 'only' getting to 26C (79F) here today. We also had quite a bit of rain on Friday night. It is very much needed.

Huge snowstorm. Not looking forward to it. I’ll be doing a lot of shoveling tomorrow.

My wish to peas in the path of the storm, would you consider making a thread for snow pics over the next few days? I know, I know, it’s old news to you, but many of us rarely (or maybe never) have experienced a BIG snow storm. Let us live vicariously through you. ❄️⛄️🌬
The good. The bad. And the ugly.

It’s summer here and our forecast for today is 39C/102F so a bit warm 😂 It’s not quite 9am at the moment and it’s 22C/72F right now. We have had some record breaking temperatures over the last few weeks and February is usually our hottest month so more to come.

SE Florida here. Going to be in the low 30s tomorrow night. In my area massive amounts of plants are being covered and those that can be are brought inside.
Definite falling Iguana warnings.

I have yet to see any falling iguanas in person. However it is cold here in Tampa. Look, for us 65 IS cold, okay? That's the current temp in our suburb. We'll have a freeze warning tonight (30 degrees forecast) and it's only supposed to be 58 for a high tomorrow. Break out the heaters and the duvets! Yeah, we're total wussies, I know. So Cal here and we known to be wussies too. However, we normally get into the 60’s during the winter and below 60 we are definitely “freezing”. Our winter clothes starts to come out at 65. Lol! We do get frost warnings, but since I am along the coast it normally doesn’t get below 35 at night. I heard the iguanas are invasive creatures and people want to get rid of them. Is that true?

3-6 inches here. We have about an inch already. Bitter cold and wind coming in behind this storm. I’m hoping the power stays on.

Is that true?Yes, they are. They are destructive to foliage and kill native lizards and other small creatures. They also carry trichinosis and if domestic pets get into altercations or eat their droppings they can become ill. My veterinarian can't stand them.

Gorgeous weather for us this weekend. Highs in the 60's and sunny. It's a nice break because we've had multiple weekends now where the weather was cold, rainy and gloomy. We'll pay for it next week with rain and another big cold front. Stay safe and warm everyone! You know it’s bad when Jim Cantore shows up 😂. All too familiar with Jim Cantore! Didn't realize he followed blizzards as well as hurricanes though! LOVE me some Jim Cantore. He's the one thing I regret about cutting cable - we don't get the Weather Channel anymore!! We are at the bottom of this snow storm. I hope it most quick and fast.

Tomorrow night it's going down to 30. It said 28 earlier so who knows. Brought my orchids in (almost all are blooming or have buds). I have a 15 foot sea grape (tropical south Florida area plant) that's going to get kicked to the ground. Haven't had frost in four years here. At least it is supposed to be sunny--almost always is when it's cold.

Our temps are forecast to dive after the weekend with an accompanying up to 6" of snow, but not bad weather so far.

I don't know about the iguanas but it's probably true. I just bought a sweatshirt. I had one with a zip up the front but it was smaller than I'd like. By the time it arrives it'll probably be in the 80's again, but I'll have it for next year, lol!

It’s coming down hard and very windy here. Only a few inches on the ground so far. That’s the view out my family room window. I’m not ready to step outside yet.

Warm and sunny with a 100% chance of happiness because I'm off on Monday! My windows are open and it feels like Spring. The high will be in the low 60's. Sorry about the bad weather, peas.

It’s horrendous! Horizontal sleet, some gusts at over 100 mph. The bins have had to be tied down. My house is very exposed and I couldn’t get the car door open to come to work. DH had to reposition the car. There are power cuts a few miles away but they happen through the winter and are usually restored in a few hours. The engineers are absolute stars for what they do in atrocious conditions. It’s been like this all day. Jockscrap is likely to have it worse than me if she lives where I think she does. That area is always bad. A lady was killed in Aberdeen by a falling tree.

Checking in alive and well gar and gillyp. It’s been pretty horrendous but our roof has survived intact this time, our bins were in the garage and everything else was weighted down so all good there. The storm arrived a few hours later than expected as it got held up on the west coast. We lost power and internet at about 11am but they were back on just as we were finishing our tea (cooked on a gas hob, with me wearing my DH’s cycling helmet and torch to light up what I was doing). Very thankful for our gas hob and gas fire. The superheroes at the electric company are amazing battling the elements like they do.
