Pet death grief---let's support each other

TL/ DR: 

Thank you again to everyone who replied!
This past weekend has been BRUTAL, so, aside from support from my
DH, friends, and family, I've been doing A LOT of reading, and I've added a helpful list (it's LONG!)
about coping with grief (pets or humans) in my new post on the next page. I hope it might help some of you, 
and I'm sending (( hugs )).

Long Update  March 14th

Thank you again to everyone who replied!  I didn't realize it's been a month plus
20 days since I first posted. The last few days, my grief is getting even worse! 
I'd love to attend an in-person support group, but can't find one.

I NEED to find the right
counselor, but haven't yet.  I had one I thought would be helpful, but it didn't
work out. It's sooo exhausting just to make all the phone calls, and GO---but
more exhausting when you have to try to find the right one.

I'm considering asking my doc to increase my anti-depressant, but I also
feel like crying is cathartic, and it won't last forever!  Part of what makes
this SO BRUTAL is losing two of them within 2 weeks of each other !!!!!!!  



I talk with other doggie lovers, my close friends and family are very supportive,
and so is DH---but he is ALSO grieving!  I am just sooo tired of CRYING !!!
I cried more this weekend than I ever have! 


When my little brother died in 2009, I NEVER thought I'd stop crying! He
was like my son  because I took care of him due
to our mom's alcoholism. But of course, I DID stop crying eventually,
and I know I will again. But in the meantime, I can't stand the crying
anymore. Plus, it gives me horrible HEADACHES!

Original Post Feb 4th:

I don't want this to be a thread just about MY losses----I'd love to hear about
your precious pet(s) that you miss!   


** June 2020, at the height of the pandemic, we lost our 9-year-old Sophie.
Her death was partially related to vet errors at the emergency room. I've struggled
to let the vet's fatal errors go, and forgive....but it is SO hard! I only
recently stopped crying so often about her.  

What made it worse was that thanks to Covid, we couldn't BE with her 
in the emergency hospital.  

** 2 weeks ago, we lost a precious 11-year-old pug Little Guy that we adopted a year ago.
He was the sweetest, needless to say, I've
been crying quite often. He helped us with our grief over Sophie. 


** And then tonight, our precious 13-year-old Meaty died. DH and I
are shocked and in disbelief! I have
dreaded this day for a while!  I cannot believe that this happened so soon
after losing Little Guy.  I'm afraid I will never stop crying. I feel even worse
for DH, because he was Meaty's person.

Meaty and Sophie LOVED Halloween, and the trick-or-treaters loved
seeing them! 










Meaty, Sophie, and a SWEET hospice adoption (in stroller) named Professor/ Mister Magoo. 
Ugh, I still cry often about him, too. Sooo sweet and only lived with us 10 months,
but it felt like a lifetime
