I used to LOVE this show (it felt very familiar to me as part of a Jewish family, with my grandparents living in the same building as we did in NYC when I was a kid in the early 60's), but Season 3 left me a little cold. I'll admit to not liking the character of Susie all that much, nor the interactions between her and Midge. I'm also bugged that her ex and her kids have been completely forgotten about. I mean they were an important part of the story when it began. I know, I know....shows evolve, but I'm stuck on this part. I can see the ex dropping out of the story, but not the children.
That said, I think I need join Prime for a month in order to re-watch S3 just to remind myself where the story is now. Season 4 drops on the 18th. Really hope I love it as much as I did the first couple of seasons. Will you be watching?

Thanks for the reminder. I watched the first 2 seasons and then forgot about it, even though I really liked it!

I'm glad s4 is finally happening. I didn't start watching until seasons 1-3 were out and unknowingly watched season 3 first, and then seasons 1-2. Amazon likes to default to the "new" season, rather than being smart enough to know that you haven't watched any of the previous episodes. I just started A Discovery of Witches (on AMC through Amazon) and the default was to start at the new season (s3). I know better now!

I re-watched all three seasons late last fall. I'm really looking forward to the new season.

I actually really like the Susie/Midge dynamics. I think both have evolved since they started working together, mostly in positive ways. I do think they exDH/kids thing got a little shoved aside. Perhaps for me is that the reality of a divorced woman with two kids in that era... it would have been a lot harder for her to juggle it all. More than they make it out to be.

I agree that season 3 was not as good as the first 2 (IMO). I have been waiting for season 4 hoping it would redeem itself. But it has been soooo long at this point. I do think that for some shows on the streaming networks, they are not as great about being on a consistent schedule as typical network TV and I have to believe that loses viewership.

MichyM I totally agree with you about season 3. There were many things we didn't like about it. The whole thing with her father and those students was ridiculous, in our opinion. A little bit of Susie goes a long way and we didn't like how it ended. Hopefully they will redeem themselves in season 4.

Maybe recuperating from surgery affected my reaction to season 3, but I was expecting and looking forward to fun, light and fluffy as usual, and the Shy Baldwin story line got really dark really fast. Not that it isn't a story that needs telling--I just wasn't expecting it.
I don't think her kids were ever really an integral part of the show, so I'm not feeling any big loss. And her ex has a new love interest, which is cool.
I know Midge's relationship with the guy who plays Lenny Bruce is going nowhere, but I find him really hot.

I will watch it. I was also a bit bored with the way the 3rd season played out. I loved the first two seasons so much that I was anticipating more of the same, but it just seemed to be as if a whole new crew of writers was brought in. I'm with everyone hoping that season 4 returns to better writing.

I live in NY and the show was very relatable to me. The family even moved to my old Neighborhood, Forest Hills, in the 3rd season. I loved the first two seasons but Yes,, the last season was just a bit boring in my opinion.

Looking forward to the new season. It’s been so long snd I think I need to rewatch but seem to remember having some of the same thoughts. Where are the kids and just some things the characters did that were annoying snd they should have known better type of thing. I may try to rewatch later this week so I’m ready when it drops. The first two seasons were really good.

I rewatched all three seasons last summer or fall but I still feel like I need a refresher! I can't wait for the new season!

I LOVED Season 1, liked Season 2 and was so disappointed with Season 3. I'll wait until I see a bit of feedback before committing to Season 4.

We will definitely watch. Season 3 was a bit different. I need to rewatch the last episode to remind myself what happened.

I love this show. For the fashion, cars and house interiors as well as the characters. MichyM The kids are often forgotten about. When they arrived at the Catskills I was almost screaming at the TV You left the baby in the car. Someone get the baby! These sort of omissions do make the show seem ingenuine. @peano I love the chemistry between Lenny and Midge, I really want them to hook up. He is hot I love the dynamics between Rose, Abe, Moishe and Shirley. Bring on S4, hope it's good!

Looks like there are several of us hoping that S4 brings us back to what we love about the show. Everything crossed 🤞🏻

I started bingeing the series right after Christmas. I'm in the middle of S3 and just sort of lost interest in the storyline in Vegas... I will watch the last few episodes so I can watch S4.

I liked the first season, but the rest were not as good. Once we finish Peaky Blinders, we will probably start Mrs Maisel over and then watch season 4 of that. By the time we are done with that, Peaky Blinders season 6 should be out

Mrs. Maisel was the first show that I started streaming when everything shut down in March 2020. I watched one show a day while I worked out on my elliptical. Believe it or not I wondered if I would be able to get through all the episodes before I had to go back to the office. It's been almost two years and I have gone through many, many series and I am still working from home. I am excited that Season 4 is finally here.

I watched but lost interest as the series went on especially with the Shy Baldwin story line. I feel the character of Midge is she gets her jokes at the expense of others. Could be just my view. But the sets, clothes etc is amazing
