Jimmy Kimmel had a bit where they took that familiar drawing of a woman's body parts, and asked the man on the street to point to things--Can you point to the uterus? The ovaries? It was pitiful. I think after breast, all the men were confused on what was what. So, I asked my husband if he could identify and he said no. I was very surprised that he felt he could not tell a uterus from an ovary from a vagina. I guess if it is not part of their body, who cares? I had to learn all the parts in college biology, both for males and females.
Here is the video of the questions:

I should ask my dh if he could - I'm pretty sure he could. We went to prenatal classes where they went over everything and I had an ectopic pregnancy and we had that all diagrammed for us as well. Actually, I'd be really surprised if he couldn't.

We saw that episode and was entertained and shocked at the same time! Dh got all the parts correct.

DH was a nurse. He better know basic biology!
ETA: He also used to teach high school biology. He'd have zero excuse for getting it wrong.

I'm pretty sure my Dh could, he worked in the coroner's office doing autopsies, so I'd guess his anatomy is good.

I'm guessing my DH would get about 50%. He's not clueless, but biology is NOT his thing. He hasn't even had to worry too much about the knowledge most of us gain through medical issues over the years, because my background is biology and I am our "go to" for understanding medical things. (And he is the go to for anything electronic, we both earn our keep!)

I’m 100% that DH would get it all wrong. To the point that he’d probably get offended that I’m quizzing him on stuff he obviously has no clue.

LOL. My DH could answer all the questions, although I don't think he's taken a biology class since high school in the dark ages.

i can point them out easily. i've had enough things go wrong down there that i am well aware of what's what.

Definitely on the number of each body part, maybe not on identifying ovaries. The dude that couldn't even figure front from back. And points to the German dude for at least realizing the speculum was some kind of opener.

I don't think I could label the male parts correctly, so I can't complain!

Well yes, but you are a woman 🙂 you'd be surprised how many can't or won't. some are super modest. some are super religious. some don't like to use scientific terms. some just don't care so long as it's all working. i never assume all or most women can name their parts. i'm constantly surprised at the women i meet who won't even say vagina. they will use some other word or phrase like "nether regions, lady bits, female parts". to answer the original question, i don't think DH can name the the parts unless his high school biology kicks in.

The kids in our district learn both male & female reproductive parts in school. But whether they remember later is another story. Of course, 95% of the people they asked may have gotten everything right, but it's only good TV if they make it look like everyone in the world don't know any of the answers. I showed my college-age DS the front facing picture and he knew everything and said that it was very easy. He found the profile a bit trickier. DH is busy right now, so I'll have to quiz him later. But I expect him to know these things. Okay, so I made DH stop what he was doing because I was curious. He had a good laugh when they asked how often a woman has PMS and the one guy answered "once a year", saying "Wow, must be nice." He didn't recognize the birth control, and he didn't know the word for speculum, although he remembered what they were used for.

So ladies can you identify the epidydimis and vas deferens? How about the penis?

So ladies can you identify the epidydimis and vas deferens? How about the penis? Since I did the studying with DS, I could now. Prior to that I knew nothing about the epidydimis and I had forgotten about the seminal vesicle from when I learned in school. But I did indeed learn in school. But I swear I never learned about the epidydimis.

A lot of women I know couldn’t answer those questions correctly. My husband did really good answering them, he just didn’t know the name for speculum but he knew what it was for.
I’m a hairdresser and people will talk about way more things than they should when they’re in my chair. I’ve had several women that didn’t realize we don’t pee out of our vaginas. I had one talking about her mom having “female” cancer.
Also had a lady tell me about a friend of hers whose uterus blew up like a car engine (her exact words) when she delivered her baby and she’s bled to death. I was speechless on that one. 🤦🏼♀️

My college biology was for the nursing majors and we learned the body parts--very well.

Lol. I quizzed DH and he got about 40% right. I was surprised and really thought he’d do better. He’s a smart guy and knows lots of random stuff. I think he’s annoyed at me now for discovering this weakness. 😂
And yes, I know the male parts. I was pre-med in college and am decent at anatomy & biology.

We teach all of that in middle school health. The kids are VERY interested in the reproduction part of the curriculum- it is one of the few subjects at school where they actually want to know the information. After this class I think the boys would do pretty well. Before the class? Absolutely bomb it. The health teacher has told me some of the questions they ask- they are so clueless.
It makes me wonder if the men they asked every had health class. But it doesn't surprise me that adult men can't identify stuff. There are so many women out there that can't identify their own parts. I'm frustrated at how many women don't know the difference between a vagina and a vulva.

I’m a hairdresser and people will talk about way more things than they should when they’re in my chair. I’ve had several women that didn’t realize we don’t pee out of our vaginas. Yes, well, one thing that has always puzzled me is that many women refer to all of their genitalia as their "vagina". I'm talking about people who know what part of their anatomy is actually called the vagina, but they call everything else the "vagina" anyway. And many teach their children that as well. So I can understand women not either knowing the proper names or not using them, because that's what many are taught and what others around them reinforce in their daily language.
