As you may recall, I asked for cards for my friend's son back in December. Ethan got his 50+ cards for his birthday.
Ethan has a friend, Holland, who lives in the same complex, with the same diagnosis. However, Holland has had some illness and has been in/out of the hospital for the past 6 months. (I don't know what is going on with that). Holland is now in a rehab facility. Holland will turn 52 on March 4th.
If you are inclined, please send Holland a card for his birthday. His mother heard about Ethan's joy and asked if my online friends would send Holland a card)

I don't think anyone should ever feel embarrassed for asking others to help spread joy and kindness. Now should you feel that you need stop or limit how often you ask.  I also think that there are people who wish there were ways they could help others, but feel they don't have any of the 3 "T"s to spare--time, talent, or treasure. And so when a very simple way of helping another person presents itself, it's a blessing to both the recipient of the kindness as well as for a person looking for opportunities to help others.  |

You should not be embarrassed, it's very kind of you to help bring others so much joy. Just what I was going to say. It is never wrong to be kind. And I enjoy making cards so very much. Any excuse to make one and send it off to bring happiness to another person is a really gift to myself! |

librarylady. I was going to send the card today, but realized his birthday is Mar 4th. I will wait until next week so it does not arrive too early. It is all addressed, stamped, and ready to go.

I realize this is rooted from a scrapbooking group, and I scrapbook, or at least used to. But I have never been a card maker. I assume store bought cards are okay? If so, I would be happy to send a card to Holland.
I echo what others have said, you should not be embarrassed to ask. If any of us can/want to/have time to send a card, we do it.

I mailed mine today as well. I wanted the post office to do its job and then the health care place where he is living now to have time to sort it and get it to him.
His mother sent me a thank you already. I'd copy/paste, but she sent it in a text with lots and lots of "thank you"
for those sending him a card. She said he has never a lot of mail about anything, let alone birthday cards. She was very effusive on her thank yous and hearts in the note.
