I need to get back to some workouts and I've slacked off on using my Peloton app. One little stumbling block seems to be my set up and curious before I buy another Apple TV, what others may do if you use the app only.
I have the app synced with my Apple watch which is connected to my iphone to keep track of the workouts/metrics. I want to screen mirror from my from my iphone to a bigger TV screen, but the Sony TV I have is super glitchy and not working to do this at all now (Sony seems more android based). Easiest thing is probably to buy another apple TV unless there are other options I'm missing. I *could* just do the workouts from my iphone, but I find the little screen super annoying and hard on my eyes/neck.
TIA!

Before January I was using the app on my phone and my equipment was an elliptical. I was thinking of getting a bike, and wanted a smart TV in the room where the elliptical was. My mom got me a Fire TV for Christmas, which has the Peloton app, but I couldn't mirror from my phone (which was connected to my apple watch) and I also couldn't use headphones that way.
I ended up getting an Echelon bike and use my old Ipad to watch the Peloton classes and my phone to use the QZ app, which lets me see my metrics. I have been starting a separate biking workout on my watch when I start because I am not sure the QZ app is tracking to my rings. But I am not 100% on that.

I'm pretty simple. I use the app on both my phone, tablet and smart tv. All the workouts are accounted for. For my bike, a NordicTrack, I find the workout I want to do via the app on my smart tv and press play. I join live classes this way too.

I use my Roku on the TV for yoga and strength training, ipad app on my treadmill. I do have a Peloton bike but I tend to use the off bike stuff more.

Yeah my Sony tv used to have a Peloton app that they dropped at some point. Either way, I preferred it from my iphone like you. I'm not familiar with QZ, I'll have to look into that depending on what I end up doing. I have an ipad that I could use, too, wish it would sync with the apple watch/peloton app like the iphone does. Would still prefer to get it on my big screen. TFS!

Is it through your bike? For me, my apple watch does that and then syncs with the peloton app so I think I'm kind of locked into using both of them somehow. I just use an old treadmill that isn't connected to anything.

I forgot about Roku, I wonder if a Roku device would work rather than an Apple TV. My kids have Roku TVs and they seem way easier to screen mirror to compared to my Sony tv. TFS!

When I bike, I use an iPad. If I'm doing a strength workout I use the app on my smart tv. I just bought a second bike. My IC3 is moving to the lake this spring and an IC4 is going to be delivered today. I am trying to get my husband to start riding and am thinking that I'll bike with the tv so he can ride at the same time since we'll have two bikes in the same room for a month or two. I can't mirror from my iphone to the tv since my tv isn't set up for that, but it looks like I can download an app to do it. I'm going to see if he'll actually ride with me before I bother to look into that more.

I've only used the app twice, but I accessed it through our fire stick.

I use the app on my smart tv. I have a Fire Stick TV. I don't have a tread or bike but use it a lot for strength training and HIIT workouts. I love it.

I pull up the class on my ipad and mirror my ipad to my samsung tv. It occasionally glitches/sputters but overall is reliable.

I have the bike but use the app on my phone when I’m working out in a different room. I find using earbuds makes the instructors voices clearer.

I'm using one that's $33 from amazon.
