I just had the floors refinished, and my ratty old LL Bean waterhog mats took a trip to the dump. I don't especially need the waterhog mats now, because they were mainly for our late (very muddy) dog.

I have a very utilitarian mat inside the front door and it catches about a quarter of the dirt that gets tracked in. My floors are laminate.

A 5 x 7 indoor/outdoor rug in the kilim style from Pottery Barn. link It looks like the model I have is no longer available, but the one I linked is in the same colorway as the one I purchased. I also got the same rug in a runner for in front of my sinks in our bathroom.

Nothing.
There’s a door mat outside the door, but I can’t think of anyone’s house I visit that has something *inside* the front door.

We ususally have runners from Target. But because of issues with our dog we have yoga mats and waterproof floor covers.

Nothing and it freaks people out We got new flooring and they laid down a subfloor so now there is no room for a rug right there. So when people come in they say oh I'm getting your floor dirty/wet. I always say that's ok, you can see where the water is. or that's ok, it's easier to wipe up mud than clean a rug. We take our shoes off at the door and there is a boot try to place your footwear.

Nothing inside or out. The complex took all our outside mats. The door won't open in with a rug of any kind.

We have a mat by our front snd patio door. We have runners in our laundry room to catch stuff when we come in through our garage. Considering how much dirt I vacuum out if them weekly I can’t imagine not having rugs.

I had some carpet remnants from my local flooring store bound for mats at each of the entry doors so all of them match and they are a similar color to the LVT flooring and blend in.

A big mat that is meant to collect dirt, snow, rain, etc. One inside the front door and one inside the back door.

No one ever comes in our front door during the winter, so while I do have a welcome mat outside the front door just for fun, I don't have anything on the floor inside, right now. During the rest of the year I just swap out different welcome mats simply to give kids a chance to (hopefully) wipe their feet if they happen to come in that way. (Although, we tend to come in through the mudroom in the back of the house more than anything, even in the nicer weather.)

Door mat on the outside and non stick rug on the insides. Both from Costco. It is still winter and there is still snow on the ground. Plus we live in the country so even when there isn’t anow, I prefer a rug to catch dirt, grass, small pebbles, etc.

Tile that marries up to hardwood. I keep an indoor door mat on the tile to absorb dirt/moisture.

Have a mat outside the front door but nothing on the inside as we have slate flooring.
We don’t use the front door - only visitors do because we come into the house through the garage so we don’t have wet or dirty shoes.

People with mats outside - are they under a roof/under cover? I’m thinking that an outside mat would be super wet and muddy very quickly here and wouldn’t be any use for wiping off your shoes before stepping in the house at all.
