I absolutely adore this house. The hall and stairs are classic Art Nouveau, and there are lots of other original features too. If you want to buy it as a holiday home, you’ll be pleased to know it’s only 3.5 miles from Glasgow Airport, but not in any flight paths. The only thing I’d need to change is the kitchen sink, which is a strange style for a kitchen. Paisley house

Very nice.👍
I'm pleasantly surprised by how much I like the woodwork painted black (photos 3 & 4), especially against the dark grey walls (photos 17 & 18). Plus the copper fittings really give it warmth.
Also, although we didn’t get to see inside, I think that garden room (photos 27/28) would likely be my favourite spot.😍
ETA: I agree about that kitchen sink being weird but at least the sink in the butler’s pantry (in the virtual tour) looked more practical.

It's beautiful and I can't believe how cheap it is compared to property down here. I agree with you about the kitchen sink - strange choice and not at all a functional sink in a kitchen. The video does if far more justice than the photos do.

It is just lovely! I also agree about the odd kitchen sink! But the rest of the home is perfection! I really loved the green tile fireplace.

Brilliant price for what looks to be a beautifully maintained property. Not keen on some of the dark walls; the hall especially is not my taste and I’m surprised how much I dislike all the tiled fireplaces. I wouldn’t turn it down if it were offered to me.

That's definitely a bathroom sink! Weird choice but there's a lot to love about the house otherwise...and the price is just crazy cheap! Still prefer that other gorgeous Scottish one from a while back though - was it you lesley or gillyp that posted it here?

Still prefer that other gorgeous Scottish one from a while back though - was it you lesley or gillyp that posted it here? Do you mean the one with tartan carpets close to the sea? I think lesley probably posted that. That kitchen sink must surely be just for hand washing or water for cooking; it’s impractical as a normal kitchen sink. Is that a Quooker tap I wonder? I fancied one but at nearly £2k I thought I could just continue fancying it.

Do you mean the one with tartan carpets close to the sea? I don't remember that about it...a limestone coloured building, huge open plan kitchen with sofas etc and those narrow, black framed, huge windows to the garden...huge pantry, one bathroom had barely any shelving which someone commented on...hard to explain. I can see it very clearly in my mind though

Is that a Quooker tap I wonder? It's look just like DDs normal tap bit it's one you can unhook and move around.

I’ve also posted houses in St Andrews and somewhere in the Clyde valley. 😊

It’s a lovely house. There are a few things I’d change though. I agree with you on the kitchen sink, how can they wash their pans! Maybe they have a massive dishwasher. I had one of those video tour/ 3d plans taken of my house when I sold it. It was weird to think that everyone can zoom in on every tiny detail in your house, I didn’t like the idea. Although I spent ages “walking” through my own house . lesley Savills will enjoy telling the sellers how many internet hits the property has had after all our US peas have viewed the property! They will be disappointed when they don’t get hundreds of viewings!

I think the one you might be remembering gar was in Edinburgh. Quite possibly! I kept the tab open on my laptop for ages and regularly had a bit of a daydream but I lost it somehow.

It is a wonderful house. A few things could be changed, but certainly liveable!! Great layout.

I love this house! I love the decorating, too. So cozy and beautiful. I could picture myself living there for sure.

The house is not my thing, but OMG, the Art Nouveau craftsmanship is stunning. I really don't like what they've done to the kitchen. You don't have to have a replica kitchen of the time, but you can introduce features that are reminiscent of the original style of the house.

Soooo beautifully done. Though I also wonder about the kitchen sink, it’s simply weird, and did you notice the bicycle on the wall? Interesting…. But so many of the details are just wonderful. Love the stained glass and copper and the green tile fireplace. Yep, I could live there!

I like it. I’d have to do things like rip out the carpet and take down the drapes - and I’d completely redo the kitchen. But I love the fireplaces, the natural light and the fixtures. Is that under $1m usd?

I’ve totally overlooked any negative details, ha, because I am totally sold. I’ve totally fallen in love with the pastoral charm!

I love this one. The fireplaces have me all heart-eyed. I love the custom stained glass windows that are picking up the 3 arrow motif also found on one of the fireplaces.I
I just finished reading Ian Rankin's Rebus' Scotland. Not only do I now want to read the John Denis books, but I have a million questions! 😆 Reading about him comparing Glasgow and Edinburgh is fascinating. Crazy the different vibes those cities have for now close they are to each other.

Many parts of the house seem to have lots of great light. That garden room is beautiful.
Interesting though, how some rooms are very light and bright and airy feeling, and some, with deep colors on the wall are so dark; quite the contrast. And also interesting to see how they painted the dark color up a certain distance and then had lighter colors above.
I kept thinking there has to be a different kitchen sink that we just didn’t see, and that weird one would just be a hand washing sink?

It's so lovely And the neighbourhood looks so nice as well. I agree with you about the kitchen sink. It's so impractical. I kept looking on the photos for the 'real' sink. Many parts of the house seem to have lots of great light. That garden room is beautiful. Interesting though, how some rooms are very light and bright and airy feeling, and some, with deep colors on the wall are so dark; quite the contrast. I thought the same thing!! The lighter rooms are just gorgeous, but I'm not really a fan of the darker rooms. Especially knowing how little sun they get in bonny Scotland.

There's so much I love about that house, but some of it is just too dark for me. And that sink is the weirdest thing in that spot!
