I am not talking about on line news but actually getting the newspaper at the end of your driveway.
Not that long ago I used to subscribe to the Sunday paper but I found I wasn't reading it and there wasn't much news in it anyway.

Yes we do. We like to read a real newspaper with our breakfast.

No, because they wanted to put the price up SO much. For awhile we switched from receiving it every day to getting a combination paper/digital subscription where we only got the papers on the weekend. Then they wanted to raise that up too. So we just switched to all digital. In the past when we'd tell them (it's the Washington Post) that we were going to stop service because of huge price increases they would always come back with a better offer. But not this time. lol. So digital is fine. Every once in awhile we'll walk to 7-11 and buy a Sunday paper, but not often.

Yes we do - it is a very hard habit to break. I have, for as long as I can remember - read the paper as I have breakfast.
these days there is nothing much in the paper and let’s face it - the news that is in there we have usually heard about due to digital news or TV news updates.
I have on a few occasions cancelled my subscription but always go back and re-schedule.

Not in years... I do miss that Sunday morning time with the newspaper...
Even my mom who is 82, who is a die hard everyday reader of the newspaper is letting her subscription go. Her and a neighbor even shared the costs and decided it wasn't worth it anymore.

Yes I do. I barely read it though. But my granddad and mom made their careers in print news and I have a great appreciation for it. I think I am the last generation for that though As long as I can afford it I will subscribe.

Yes - I subscribe. I get the daily subscription online but still receive the Sunday paper in my driveway each week.

Sundays only. The price has gone up, but it’s worth it to me.

I subscribe to our town’s weekly newspaper. Otherwise, my other subscriptions are all digital.

Yes to our local weekly paper. It just has news on our few local towns and municipalities. No provincial or federal news. It's about 12-16 pages long or should I say short. I don't get my mail at the end of the driveway, we get ours at the post office building.

My parents do. I'm glad because I take it every so often for starting fires and lining my compost bin.

I was thinking of getting the Sunday paper again. But haven't signed up yet. We get the daily paper at work (small office). I think my dad still gets the daily paper. I know my office mate gets the weekend papers.

Years ago, the Boston Globe changed their delivery service and made a huge mess of it. We weren't getting our papers, so we switched to digital. We got so used to it, that all our subscriptions are digital now.

No, we stopped when the paper got very thin. The SD Tribune has very little news in it.

Nope, we switched to digital a few years ago because it was too expensive for what they offered. It was an easy decision because if the cost, but at the same time it was hard because I had been reading a newspaper daily since some time in middle school or high school--i even had a subscription in college. I read it online for awhile, but have even stopped doing that, I just read a few stories instead of looking at the digital edition.

Haven't in over 10 years. I don't think a daily is even available in our area anymore due to lack of interest. We have a small local weekly newspaper that we no longer receive either. We get all our news from tv and internet now.
Funny thing, in my younger years I worked as the editor of the local paper and a contributor to the daily paper. I loved writing and photojournalism but couldn't make a living on the low wages. I do miss it.

We did get the local paper once a week but the price went up so much we stopped. We get a newspaper once a month from DH's tribe, but that's free

The price went up so high on the hard copy that we switched to digital only. I do miss holding the real paper in my hands, but I've gotten used to digital.

Not for about 20 years.
I don’t like the way newspaper feels. I don’t like the texture and it’s so unwieldy. Not smooth and easy to flip like a book or magazine.

Yes, but it has almost priced itself out of my budget.
The print version had information that is missing in the online version. I think that has improved.
I like to read the physical item more than the e versions.

We subscribe to both the local paper and the New York Times digitally. I don't miss having a hard copy of the paper. I can't think of one reason why I might prefer a hard copy of the paper over a digital version. I understand it's a matter of preference though.
I do worry that people aren't staying very well informed about local news. It's easy to find in depth news about world and national events, but it's a lot harder to find quality in depth news stories about local events. I think a lot of people are getting their local news from their local stations' nightly news broadcasts which are full of fluff stories. I don't feel like the local news stations value good investigative journalism like the local newspapers used to do twenty years' ago.

No, because they wanted to put the price up SO much. I finally called last year to complain and they lowered the cost by almost 50%!

I prefer reading a real newspaper but they jacked the price up so high because I live outside their “regular” delivery area that I finally had to give up. Now I get Sunday only + digital. My mom still gets the daily paper (for half of what they wanted to charge me) and sometimes I read it at her house, just because I miss the real daily paper.
I also get the small local rag delivered but it’s only three days a week.

Only digital. The Atlantic and Washington Post.
The rest, for other perspectives, I browse for free.

I've never subscribed to a paper newspaper. I don't like the format, all that page flipping to finish one article, and the waste.
