I found this new-to-me YouTube channel. Justin Hickox is a hairstylist who has a series “hair mistakes that are making you look older.” Subscribers send him pics and he explains what’s going on and offers tips on how to adjust your style to make you look younger. This video seemed closest to mine so I took a few pics to my sil who is my stylist. youtu.be/M7wQFI6Ny9EI think she took a little of this and a little of that and I have to say this is the best cut I’ve had in a long time. I wasn’t super happy with the last cut I had this length but I love this. And it’s so easy to maintain. Check out his channel if you’re looking for a change. (Sorry I haven’t seen him address AA hair yet.) He also does how to videos and offers tips. Bonus - he likes to talk while he’s out and about in nature so he shows waterfalls and other pretty outside views. ETA he is very kind as he reviews the pics that are sent to him. He does a great job explaining why the current look isn’t working without being rude about it. And explains why a few tweaks might make a difference. Before  Suggestions    New do  |

The thing is, with the other style it would flop during the day and this looks good all day long. Also I didn’t expect it but the other style made my face look long and kind of haggard. I felt like I saw my brother every time I looked in the mirror and it was not a pretty thought. 😂 |

Yes! My sil has been cutting my hair for 30+ years and if she wasn’t my sil I would have found a new stylist a long time ago. I never love it. But just a few suggestions from a guy on YouTube changed everything. |

My hair is wavy - 2C mostly I think. I’ve been watching a bunch of hair videos and some are just wat more complicated than I would care to deal with, or I would need to wake up an hour earlier to dry according to their specifications. So the end result is, I do mostly my own thing with a little of theirs. For me, I learned the best way to deal with the top is to part before I flip my head. Otherwise the top is a hot mess. |

I wonder if a new do would make a difference for you. For me, I lost 30 lbs and my face looked really thin and long, esp with my hair down. I don’t know how this cut changed all that, but it did. |
