I’ve loved Nicolas Cage since Valley Girl.
Even though I’m drawn to her movies - Nicole Kidman always bugs me - she just seems so full of herself and precious.

Whoppi Goldberg. When she popped up on Picard, I had to mute it and pick up my cross stitching. Also, I also refuse to watch anything with Jane Fonda in it.

ETA: Kristin Chenowyth. I hated when she was brought in on West Wing!

Tom Cruise Tom Hanks Eddie Murphy Reese Witherspoon Gwyneth Paltrow Are you even allowed to dislike Tom Hanks? Seems that might be against the law in the US 🙂 I thought it was illegal worldwide. I’m on the loving Nick Cage in Moonstruck bench and also in Face Off. He and John Travolta were great imho. I will avoid anything with Daniel Radcliffe in. I don’t like Harry Potter and I’m afraid I don’t like his acting.

This thread is hilarious. Funny how different actors irk us in different ways but also the same names keep popping up. I can't watch Keira Knightly. It's that thing she does with her jaw. Same with Katie Holmes doing that weird thing with her mouth. Richard Dreyfuss. Just can't. I'm sick to death of Chris Pratt. Seth Rogan and Jennifer Aniston are in the same category - the play the same character in every movie. And sign me up for the Nick Cage dislike board., ever since that silly Con Air movie where he wore a mullet and tried to play a macho action hero. Sometimes DH will say, "Put the bunny back in the box" in a terrible Southern drawl just to get under my skin. After all these years it still works. Nic Cage was absolutely horrid in that movie. But I still can't hate him. I'm more amused by his absurdity.

I refuse to believe that Nicholas Cage did anything after Raising Arizona.
He retired right after filming and was never heard from again.

I can't think of anyone I universally dislike in all ways. I think Kevin Spacey deserves his shunning and Paltrow and Cruise are tools, but they all have had some decent roles, and I can separate my personal dislike for them.
And then there are a few I don't usually care for their acting ability/style, but they have had their moments, like Cage and Andie McDowell, but she impressed me recently in Maid and Cage has been the right fit at least a couple of times (Raising Arizona for one).
Even looks-wise, a couple skeeve me a bit because of their roles (Javier Bardem in No Country for Old Men I am looking at you), but they are talented and I can respect that.
Maybe I will come back with someone, but no one I can think of right now that I "just can't."

This thread is blowing my mind! There are so many people listed that I honestly enjoy: Will Ferrell (LOVE Elf); Jack Black (LOVE High Fidelity and School of Rock and The Big Year); enjoy Nicolas Cage, depending on the movie (ADORE Moonstruck); Adam Sandler (The Wedding Singer is in my top 5 all time favorite movies) and Tom Hanks? Wha? Yeah, me too! Some really fine actors and some really memorable roles in these lists. I do get how their personal lives or certain roles can affect how we see them though, but I am glad I can't think of anyone I would avoid with maybe the exception if a "very much for sure" cancelled actor had a new movie come out, but I can sit with old shows/movies/roles with maybe only a new lens (like a ton of old movies and shows that are not aging that well but I can still find good things/nostalgia in them.)

Jeff Goldblum. Yuck yuck yuck! He’s probably the only actor I refuse to watch. Some others I’m not fond of but I can still watch.

My reasons are all stupid but: Sandra Bullock- in one of her films she pulled her sweater sleeves down to make herself look tiny and she’s strapping and GermanBen Mendelsohn- just don’t like the way he looks Sing it, sister. So many actresses do this - or maybe their costumers. Doesn’t matter what size they are; bugs me equally. Can we lose the tiny, delicate, frail women are desirable trope? And now they’re making sweaters with extra long sleeves. Life imitates art?

I know I'm in the minority, but I don't think Keanu Reeves can act. I like the movies themselves, but I just don't think he is as good an actor as everyone says he is. He's wooden to me. Same with Andie McDowell and Jennifer Jason Leigh. I don't "not watch" the movies, but I won't say "Oh, I HAVE to see that movie because Keanu is in it!"

I didn’t know this was a thing - it wouldn’t occur to me that pulling your sleeves down makes you look tiny - I would think it would make it look like you have long arms lol.

The only one that comes to mind is Taraji P. Henson. I actually haven't seen any of her work. It's one of those visceral reactions from seeing her on the red carpet. She comes off as one of the vainest women I have ever seen. She comes off so smug and superior doesn't she? I imagine she is a huge nightmare to work with. Bow Down Peasants

Man, the Peas are harsh! I can enjoy almost everyone you are listing. And I seriously question anyone who dislikes Tom Hanks or Bill Murray (have met him at a local BBQ sketch place and he was delightful).
Used to love both Tom Cruise and Mel Gibson. Now I won't watch anything with them in it. I won't even rewatch Top Gun and that was DH & mine sealed the deal date movie.
There are actors you're listing I wouldn't miss if I never saw them again, but I don't harbor a dislike for them.

Russell Crowe and Mel Gibson are the two that automatically come to mind.
However, I am good at separating the actor doing acting vs the actor in their personal lives. So, I don’t really dislike a lot of actors.
Someone mentioned Keanu, yes, I don’t think he is a good actor either, but I’ll watch whatever he is in. 😂

Poor Nic Cage! I like his quirkiness. He's not stamped from the Hollywood mold, that's for sure.

I agree. Like, I can't stand Mel Gibson, but I'll still watch (I mean, if I had to) something old he was in. I wouldn't pay money to see anything he's in now because I don't want to line his pockets.
