I cannot watch a Drew Barrymore movie. I love her as a person and can watch her talk show, but I cannot stand to watch her “act”. She comes across as herself in every movie.
I feel the same way about Adam Sandler. I think he is the male equivalent to Drew.

Sing it, sister. So many actresses do this - or maybe their costumers. Doesn’t matter what size they are; bugs me equally. Can we lose the tiny, delicate, frail women are desirable trope? And now they’re making sweaters with extra long sleeves. Life imitates art? I didn’t know this was a thing - it wouldn’t occur to me that pulling your sleeves down makes you look tiny - I would think it would make it look like you have long arms lol. LOL. Out of curiosity I just googled “pulling sweater sleeves down.” Saw some Reddit discussions listed - and then this answer from Quora in answer to “Why do teenage and young women pull down their sweater sleeves?” (Of course I picked it because it fits in with my infantilizing theory. The other answers all said “To keep your hands warm.”) And with that, I’m off to unnecessarily tangent another thread.

But I also think that’s why they’re so cute together in movies. Their personalities play off each other well.

Generally the only Adam Sandler movies I like are the ones with Drew or rom-com... I don't like his silly movies like Waterboy

Jim Carrey Robin Williams
And not an actor really but I DETEST Woody Allen movies and always have even before his disgusting relationship with his stepdaughter. I totally hate his face, his voice, his entire style.
Scarlett Johansson, kind of
Ryan Reynolds is annoying but when he's reined in he's not that bad.
I used to not like Kevin Hart but some things he's done with The Rock really changed my mind about him.

Pretentious Christian Bale.
Teri Gross was interviewing him on Public Radio several years ago around the time of a Batman movie. Her format is 1-on-1 and very in-depth.
Bale starts answering her questions in an American accent. She asks why and he explains that Americans expect Batman to be American. She tells him she’s interviewing HIM, not Batman. He won’t back down. She is momentarily, and uncharateristically, flustered but moves on.
I turned it off. If he thinks I can’t wrap my parochial American brain around the idea of listening to a Batman actor talk about his life for an hour while using his authentic accent, he can go suck bricks. Tosser.

I am another one who can usually separate my feelings about someone as a person with who they are as an actor. So if I dislike an actor, it's either their acting style, or they tend not to do the type of movies I enjoy.
That said, I wouldn't want to support Mel Gibson or Chris Pratt financially.
For example - I 100% get that Jim Carrey is funny. It just isn't the type of humour I enjoy. So I wouldn't go to one of his movies, as a rule. Same with Will Ferrell, David Spade.
Not a Brad Pitt fan, don't like Angelina Jolie.
I don't like Katherine Heigl but mostly because even though she does do rom coms- I am a rom com fan - she does have a haughty quality she can't seem to surpress.
Meryl Streep is incredibly talented. Major technical skills. And she leaves me absolutely cold. I actually feel the same way about Tom Hanks.
I'm sure there are a few more.

I despise Tom Cruise. Bleck.

Zoe Deschanel...idk why but she bugs the crap out of me I hate the way she talks. Not sure if she’s been in any movies but Jenny McCarthy. What an attention whore.

Renee Zelweger. Ever since she said "You had me at hello". Another one is Bob Newhart. (He goes back a long way)

Kristin Chenowyth in anything for starters. Im not good with names but may think of others. She cracks me up. She seems to play a lot of quirky roles. Then there is her singing voice. This thread is blowing my mind! There are so many people listed that I honestly enjoy: Will Ferrell (LOVE Elf); Jack Black (LOVE High Fidelity and School of Rock and The Big Year); enjoy Nicolas Cage, depending on the movie (ADORE Moonstruck); Adam Sandler (The Wedding Singer is in my top 5 all time favorite movies) and Tom Hanks? Wha? Me too. I'll admit it, I watch stupid baby man movies when I need an escape and want to laugh at dumb comedy. I don't love love love David Spade, but he cracks me up in Dickie Roberts and Tommy Boy. Oh, and I just realized you are familiar with Tommy Boy.
Another poster mentioned Daniel Radcliffe. For me, it's Rupert Grint. It felt like he overacted in the HP films. Almost any scene he was in, I cringed a little each time.
For me, I think it has more to do with roles. I CANNOT stand The Good Doctor and the robotic voice Freddie Highmore uses, but he's not a terrible actor.
Does anyone else like to watch terrible movies they can't look away from like Nicholas Cage in Peggy Sue Got Married? Terrible, terrible movie. Like Mystery Science Theater material. Still, I like some of this other stuff.

Not a fan of Robert Downey, Jr. and my reason is totally silly. Several years ago, I saw a movie that I can't even recall the name of. RDJ played an addict and there was one scene where his friend was looking for him and walked into a bedroom to see him bent over the side of the bed with some guy behind him. He was doing this for drug money. Now, no matter what he is in, I cannot unsee that scene. He was so very convincing in that movie and now, he will always be the drug addicted male prostitute in my mind.

I don’t judge movies by the actors; I do judge by the type of movie. Really silly slapstick movies-no. Anything with a zombie in it-no. Really depressing movies-no.

This may have been said upthread, but any time I find out an actor is into Scientology, I can’t watch their work any longer.
Fortunately, when I found out about Elisabeth Moss, I had already grown annoyed by her “acting” featuring long shots of her staring angrily or determinedly just off camera. So I won’t miss watching Handmaid’s Tale. 😬

I refuse to watch Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Nicole Kidman, and Mel Gibson. Just like I refuse to listen to music by Michael Jackson and Madonna.
Adding Woody Allen to my list, I disliked way before his incestuous relationship with his “step daughter.”
I doubt I’ll ever watch another movie with Will Smith in it but I enjoyed his acting until he showed his ass and hit Chris Rock.

I feel about him the way I feel about Tom Cruise. I think he's weird and I don't really care about his movies, but he's got some talent. Maybe a bit overrated.

Less Than Zero. This movie still haunts me. this movie came out when i just turned 20. i never saw the movie but knew about the premise. through the years i've caught tiny snippets but the premise was enough the haunt me too. i think it was because i was about the same age as the actors, was in college, saw people who were like this, etc.
