Yesterday, my younger sister was diagnosed with myelomatosis, and I’m terrified for her (she’s still in shock). In November 2020 we lost our mom a month after she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, and the two have many similarities, terrible prognosis being one. And six months ago, her partner of nearly 20 years unexpectedly kicked her out. Literally texted her and told her he didn’t love her anymore, and please leave before he came home from work. I was worried about her before, and even more know.

I’m sorry. It truly sucks to be given a horrible diagnosis. I hope you can support your sister through this even though it’s a shock to everyone.

It’s only a 15 min walk from me, fortunately. I have told her I will be there for her. Always. No matter what.

Oh how awful, your poor sister. I’m so sorry. And I’m sorry you have to go through this, it’s so hard watching someone you love being sick. I hope they can get a great treatment plan in place for her. Big gentle hugs to you.

I'm so sorry miominmio what an awful shock for your sister and you. I do hope that it's in the early stages and that effective treatment can start very soon for her. I'm glad that you are near to each other and you are able to support her, she seems to have been through a lot recently. (((hugs)))

Oh, I’m so sorry, what a shock. She lucky to have you. And, while nobody relishes living alone during a health crisis, maybe she’s also lucky this particular partner is out of her life for this? That flavor of callous is unpredictable.

Hugs I just saw you live 15 min from her - that is fantastic, bc then you can keep your eye on her and be supportive. I'm the older sister too, and while my sister and I aren't super close/don't always get along, I would want to be there for her - but she's 8 hrs away from me.

I am so sorry. That's just a lot for both of you. My older sister was my support and caregiver (outside of my DH) when I had cancer in 2009. When she was diagnosed with cancer in January 2020, I was determined to take care of her as she did for me. She died in February of 2020 and I miss her so much. Big hugs to you and your sister. I'm glad you live so close. You are both in my prayers. A sister's love is so special.
